Visual Development Artwork For a Wicked Animated Movie

Here is some interesting "characters visual development" artwork created by Minkyu Lee who imagined a "Wicked" animated film with a Disney style. Lee is a Disney animator who worked on Princess and the Frog as well as Frozen. He also did the Oscar nominated short Adam and Dog and these drawings below were done while he was studying at Cal Arts and interning at Disney.

It's always interesting to see some visual development, specially when the movie is not done yet, but apparently Disney seems to don't be interested by a Wicked movie - or may be they don't have the rights on it... May be another studio will be interested some day!

Oh my God! This looks amazing!!!

Wicked is one of the best musicals and although I never like it when they make a movie about a musical (it should be seen live on stage...), this looks amazing!!! Thanks for sharing, it looks so "Disney", wow!

Oh, sorry, another post. But Universal produces the musical, Universal Studios in Osaka even used to have a short 30 minute version of Wicked.

So we can only dream about Disney producing this I think :(

And the musical is about 2,5 hours and not really made for children, I understand Disney won't be producing this.

Disney should not waste any money on stuff like this - with the money wasted on 2 hand-drawn movies, they could easily make another John Carter or Lone Ranger, or make another park turnstile free...

Wicked is a product of Universal Studios.

Looks good in the Disney style. BTW, check your spelling on development.
