Kong : Skull Island Short Review

I've seen saturday in theatre "Kong : Skull Island" and my opinion about it is a bit mixed: let's say that all the scenes with Kong and others creatures are very well done by ILM wizards ( with others visual effects companies) and perfectly enjoyable ( without having the poetry of the 1933 original King Kong ) but i've found all the scenes in-between the action scenes, i.e the scenes with the characters only, a bit lame and the only character which you'll remember is the one played by the always great John C Reilly.

It's a pity because there is a lot of A-list actors playing in Kong : Skull Island ( Samuel Jackson, John Goodman, Tom Hiddleston, John C Reilly... ) but you can have great actors, if the script is not good enough, they'll do their best but it won't make a truly great movie. The idea of doing a Vietnam war movie with Kong could have worked if the director had the genius of Francis Ford Copolla, but as talented as is the director here, i'm sorry to say that it's not the case. I'll go as far as to say that between the four main King Kong movies ( the 1933 original, the one of the 70's with Jessica Lange, the one of Peter jackson and this one ) this new Kong movie is probably the less memorable.
