"Walt Disney's Disneyland" Auction Exhibition Now Open - Auction on June 25 !

After the awesome "The Story of Disneyland" Auction in 2015 and the "Collecting Disneyland" and Souvenirs of Disneyland Auction in 2015 and 2016, Van Eaton Galleries presents “Walt Disney’s Disneyland”, a historic auction of nearly 1,000 Disneyland artifacts from 1953 to the present day. Some of these artifacts include original props, wardrobe, ride vehicles, and souvenirs. A highlight of this auction being Walt Disney’s first-ever presentation map of Disneyland. This original map, created in 1953 during a single week-end by Disney Legendary artist Herb Ryman, was the one used by Walt and Roy Disney to secure the financing they needed in order to build Disneyland park.

Hundreds of items will go on auction on Saturday June 25, but the auction exhibition is now open at Sherman Oaks, California, and you can see them in person at Van Eaton Galleries Ventura Boulevard space, until June 24, Tuesdays through Sundays.

Several costume-y pieces are in auction, as well as drawings galore.

Among hundred of items an artifact from the 1964 World's Fair is up for bidding, as well as examples of classic Disney signage.

Yes, it'll be also a chance to acquire a Disneyland Autopia car!

This “Walt Disney’s Disneyland” auction has an auction catalog, in hardcover or softcover version, measures 11" x 8.5" and features full-color imagery for nearly 1,000 items that will be available in the auction. Price is $30 for the softcover catalog and $95 for the hardcover that you can order HERE.

Is this a map of Disneyland Paris behind the Tiki statue (on the fourth picture)?

Do you have any idea who is selling these items or how they have been collected?

Answers: No, it's not a map of DLP behind the Tiki statue on the fourth picture but one of Disneyland. And, 2), i don't know if all the items are coming from one collector's collection or several, or his or their name(s), and obviously they were collected among the years.

I'm sorry, Alain, but I have to disagree with you on the 4th picture.
It's definitely YES a map of DLP. If you look closely, you can see 'Euro Disneyland' written in the bottom right corner. Also, which is the only park with a Big Thunder Mtn. that is completely surrounded by water? Indeed, the one and only DLP. And just look at the location of Pirates, It's a Small World ... and of course the never built Discovery Mtn. But I guess it's one from 1989-1990, since Autopia is not on it yet.

Are you sure about the map? I can clearly see a hotel at the entrance of the park, Big Thunder Mountain surrounded by water in the centre of Frontierland and even a Discovery Mountain-like building in the centre of Tomorrowland (or Discoveryland?).

True, the general layout looks a bit odd to be Disneyland Paris, but I don't think this is Disneyland either. Anyway, the name of the park is indicated on the map, but I can't clearly see what it is.

Apologies to both of you as you're right, it IS a Disneyland Paris map, it's clearly written "Euro Disneyland" on it and obviously it was done before Imagineers decided to add Utopia to Discoveryland!

As much as I love the Discoveryland which turned out to be, I would also have loved to see this particular version come true (especially the whole Discovery Mountain project).
