OZ, Great and Powerful Triptych Poster Right Side
You saw last week the first part of this Oz, Great and Powerful triptych poster and Disney released the part two - apparently the right side - of the poster. More "Oz" characters on this one, and in the back a castle that reminds me a bit DLP Sleeping Beauty castle...
The third part of the triptych should be released very soon!

Shanghaî Disneyland Will Use Shanghaî World Expo 2010 Technologies
Jin Tao, an official of the Shanghai Shendi Co - the official company for SDL - revealed yesterday at an international digital media technology forum in Shanghaî that Shanghaî Disneyland will adopt some of the technologies shown at Shanghaî World Expo 2010! And RFID technology will also be used at SDL:
"Technologies shown at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai will be used in the city's Disneyland theme park, officials told an international digital media technology forum in the city yesterday. Disneyland, which is now under construction and will be finished in 2015, will have typical American features along with local characteristics, said officials from Shanghai Shendi (Group) Co, which represents the Shanghai government's stake in the project.
The technology used in the dynamic version of the famous painting "Along the River during the Qingming Festival" in the China Pavilion will be used at Disneyland. Featuring multimedia technology, the dynamic picture features moving figures and was one of the most popular exhibits at the Expo. "The technology has really improved since then and the display will be more eye-catching and exciting at Disneyland," said Jin Tao, a Shendi official.
LED lights will also be used extensively in the house the mouse built ( NDR: in the park ). Radio Frequency Identification technology, or RFID, used for Expo tickets and the online Expo will also be adopted. A cell phone payment system is also expected to be introduced for purchases made at the Disneyland theme park."
At EXPO 2010 the digital tapestry was created by Crystal CG for the Chinese Pavilion and was a 130-meter long, 6.3-meter high animated digital mural, which is pretty impressive. The same people were also responsible for the digital scroll seen in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Now, this "chinese dynamic painting" itself won't probably be part of SDL but, as far as i've understood the statement of Shendi officials, the same technology will be used in the park. As you may wonder what is this technology and how it looked at Expo 2010 for the "dynamic version" of the chinese famous painting i found for you on Youtube two videos which will tell - and show - you more about it.
As you've seen the technology, well used, can be pretty magical and there is no doubt that WDI can create something amazing with a Disney touch, by using the same technology.
Will the technology be used in SDL Fantasyland or Tomorrowland? Or inside the castle? I'm afraid we'll have to wait Shanghaî Disneyland opening in 2015 to have the answer!

Is " Angry Birds Star Wars " - Released Today on the App Store - the First Effect of the Disney - Lucasfilm Deal ?
It's probably difficult to find someone who never heard about the immensely popular Angry Birds mobile game. The different versions of the game are sold both on the iTunes App Store and the Android Market Store and have been downloaded hundred millions times. And TODAY Rovio, the game publisher, release the latest version, and it's called Angry Birds Star Wars!
The game was of course designed with Lucas Arts and let me tell you that this one will be hugely popular as it looks more fun than ever with this star Wars theme. The principle - you catapult "angry" birds to destroy the "houses" of the pigs - remain the same but this time the birds looks like famous Star Wars "rebels" characters - from Chewbacca to Princess Leia and of course C3PO and R2D2 - and the pigs of course looks like "Empire" characters - Darth Vader, Storm troopers, and more.
So, is this "Angry Birds Star Wars" the first effect of the Disney - Lucasfilm deal? No, it's not, the deal between Rovio and Lucas Arts to create this mobile game was done months ago but Disney can be happy as for sure Lucasfilm will make millions of dollars with this "Angry Birds Star Wars". As you may be interested to have a look at it, here is the trailer and below others short trailers introducing the different angry-birds-star-wars characters. The game will be released later today on both Apple and Android App Stores !

Pixar Studios Pays Tribute to Steve Jobs
Pixar just did a great tribute to Steve Jobs. I remind you that Steve played a large role in the creation of Pixar and even financed the studio long before it became profitable, with millions of his own money to keep Pixar afloat because he believed in digital animation and in the work of Pixar animators. In the end credits of Brave, there was a touching tribute to Steve Jobs but now, a greater tribute has been done to Steve on Pixar’s campus as Pixar gave his name to the studio’s main building.
As usual with Steve he get really involved in the design of this building and he was the one who wanted a central atrium to stimulate encounters between everyone working at Pixar. Later, John Lasseter revealed in Steve Jobs biography that Steve was right and Lasseter explain how, thanks to the atrium lobby, he met from opening day people he didn't met since months!

Disneyland Paris Christmas Season starts in two days and the Press Special Event will be next saturday and sunday, the 10 and 11. If you're in the park on these days - and specially on saturday, lucky you, as you might see the european stars who are invited for the event. DLP sent his invitations last month and they did a really nice visual for the invitation, the one you can see above.
It's also during the event that will be introduced the new Christmas Parade called "La Cavalcade de Noel" with four new Christmas floats, and more. Below, you can see the concept-art and here is the story-line: "Santa Claus and his elfs have worked all year long to create the toys for all children of the world and are proud to present them at Disneyland Paris. In a brand new parade Santa Claus will be surrounded by puppets, wooden soldiers and plenty of other toys who came alive by magic. Several times per day they will be on Main Street U.S.A to dance in a merry parade with the happier christmas songs. As a surprise never come alone Mickey, Minnie and their friends will join the party to wish from the top of their christmas float a happy christmas to DLP guests."
The four Different floats will include one looking like a toy box with Buzz and Woody, one with Santa Claus on his christmas sleigh, one float with the elfs and deers and one with Mickey and his friends. Please note that this new Christmas Parade does NOT replace the daytime "Disney Magic on Parade" BUT replace the 20th Anniversary Train. DLP Christmas season last until January 6th, 2013.
One more news about DLP as Philippe Gas, DLP CEO has met this morning Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, DLP biggest private shareholder - picture below - to discuss about the buyout of DLP debt by the WDC and probably of DLP future...

Frankenweenie Review
Frankenweenie is now released in European and Asian countries, i watched it two days ago, and personally i loved it. I think it's a real charming movie who also pay great tributes to classic horror films from Frankenstein to Godzilla, and many others. For me, it's also one of the best Tim Burton's movie since quite a while, and probably because it's a film without pretentiousness. I mean, obvioulsly the goal was to do a movie with a lot of simplicity - in the good meaning of the word - and also to find back some childhood innocence. On all these points Tim succeed perfectly, as well as the animation, and all this wih a sumptuous black and white.
All the characters are great and you will probably have your favorites, but mine are the character named Edgar 'E' Gore...
...as well as the professor Rzykruski inspired by the great Vincent Price, with the voice of the also great Martin Landau!
But, to say the truth, all the characters are good, beginning of course by the young Victor and of course his beloved dog Sparky. Go and watch it with a childhood soul, and you will love it!

Oz : The Great and Powerful - New Poster and High-Res Artwork
A new poster has been released for the awaited Oz : The Great and Powerful. I really have a good feeling on this movie and, just like you i presume, i hope to don't be disappointed. That said, i've never been disappointed by Sam Raimi and i also like James Franco who play the lead character, so everything should go fine.
Anyway, here above is the new poster and below three artworks, each one in high-res of course.
