Six Flags Justice League : Battle for Metropolis Ride - Full Ride Videos
A new E-Ticket ride opened at both Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis two months ago and God knows why i missed its opening. It's a very interesting ride as for the first time Six Flags is launching an ambitious ride that we usually see mostly, if not only, at Universal Studios ( Spiderman, Transformers rides ) or Disney ( DLP WDS Ratatouille ride ).
The three minutes ride is titled Justice League : Battle for Metropolis and is of course based on DC Comics Super-Heroes and villains, and was produced by major industry players Sally Corporation and Oceaneering International. The trackless ride vehicles with a simulated platform are done by Oceaneering and can tilt and spin, complete 360 degree turns and virtual loops. And just like the Universal - Disney similar rides guests wear 3D glasses to enjoy the 3D projections on the 18 giant screens which includes five 17×30 foot interactive screens that are used during the shooting part of the ride. But Six Flags add a "shooter" dimension as guests also have laser guns to shoot at more than 600 virtual enemies that pop up during the course of the ride. A ride which also include mechanical elements, a themed queue that includes video screens playing Justice League-related content, and an Audio-Animatronic figure recruiting patrons to fight alongside the Justice League. and of course special effects - smoke, fire, lighting, etc... Entertainment Designer did recently a good article about it that you can read HERE, and as E.D notes "one of the most innovative developments of the ride is a fog screen which has villains projected onto it. The ride cars pass through the wall of fog, adding a whole new level of interest to the 4D experience."
Now, as i'm sure you'll like to see the full ride i've found three good videos for you. The first one shows the ride filmed with a camera placed at the top of the last row in the ride vehicle, and also have the full Audio-Animatronic scene in the pre-show. The AA though as not perfect as one from WDI is quite good but it seems to me that at the time the video was filmed there was a little problem of audio synchronization, apparently the man who's doing the AA voice is speaking too quickly for the AA moves. Also, during the ride itself, the top of the projections on the ride screens is partly out of the frame of the camera.
The second video is coming from Sally Corporation - who produced and designed the ride - and this one shows the full frame of the ride projections on giant screens. The video is a bit darker than the first one but that's okay.
And you also must watch this third video as it shows very different views of the ride vehicle moving in the sets but filmed from outside of the vehicle, as well two guests on-ride shooting at will with the guns.
So, does it look as good as similar rides at Universal or Disney. It looks really good, and certainly very good for a Six Flags ride. And as Six Flags don't have the same budget than Disney or Universal for their rides i'll be curious to know the cost of the ride. If anyone knows, thanks to let me know in the comments! I still think that the Spiderman ride at IOA is better, but i don't want to speak too much about this Justice League ride as it's not fair to judge a ride that you didn't ride "physically". One thing is sure, if i was living nearby i will for sure go right away to Six Flags to ride it!

Shanghaî Disneyland Update : New Pictures and Video !
We're back at Shanghaî today for a new update on Shanghaî Disneyland! With almost everything about the park and resort announced by Bob Iger two weeks ago there's not a lot more to learn right now, but there is still more to see thanks to a Chinese TV report which include some interesting shots. Some of them were filmed one or two months ago but that's not the problem when they show any part of the park we've not seen before.
We'll start by interesting shots of the SDL model filmed when Iger did its announcement and this first one on the top shows the park entrance. On the one below you can see the entrance of Disney Town - the park entrance is in the background on the top right - and the big structure in the foreground is most probably the World of Disney store.
Next is an interesting shot showing the Journey to the Crystal Grotto boat ride model with SDL castle in the background.
And this last one shows Roaring Rapids, the loading area in the foreground, with Camp Discovery in the background, on the right.
Time now to have a look at pictures of the park, starting with these shots of the works on SDL Castle.
This next picture shows SDL castle in the background with Tomorrowland elevated walkways in the foreground.
Next pictures are close shots on the Roaring Rapids mountain with workers working on it. All these screen captures are not very sharp but the original video was in low-res and, after enhancement, this is the best we can get.
The next picture shows something more difficult to guess but i think it's Shipwreck Shore in Treasure Cove - you can guess the wrecked ship...
Another ship - may be the same one? - in Treasure Cove.
SDL Pirates of Caribbean fortress and the ride show building in Treasure Cove, seen more or less from behind.
The last three pictures show the same building. The question is: which one? It could be El Teatro Fandango where will take place the Pirates stunt show... but the red color of the structure as well as the art-deco design on the top makes me think that it could be the Walt Disney Grand Theater in Disney Town. The bets are open!
All-right, as i'm sure you want to see the video from which i did these screen shots, here it is, and see you soon for a new Shanghaî Disneyland update!

Disneyland Paris Update Part Two : Renovations Everywhere !
As promised, here is the part two of the Disneyland Paris update, with pictures of Max Fan, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster. If you've missed the part one of this article about the reopening of a renovated Space Mountain you'll find it HERE.
I also remind you that i do a Special Summer Offer on the Disneyland Paris "From Sketch to Reality" book until August 15 and it's the best offer ever, so make sure to check the offer at the end of the article!
Although the fences are now out in Discoveryland others areas of the park remain in renovation and others parts are already finished...
Right at the park entrance the renovation of the ground of Fantasia Gardens is still going on...
This week is cold and rainy at DLP with 22° maximum but warm weather should be back for the week-end. And it was hot when Max shot these pics, with plenty of guests in Main Street U.S.A.
Behind the castle the Carousel de Lancelot is now reopen, but was not yet when Max shot the pictures.
One of the most spectacular renovations is the one of Fantasyland pools all around Dumbo, the result is stunning and the color of the water never looked as clear as this since DLP opening day!
We move now to Frontierland where the « Rustler Roundup Shootin’ Gallery » is now reopen after its renovation. The roof is renovated, signs are back and painting was done on the facades.
Let's end with pictures of DLP day parade and DLP 2015-2016 ambassadors welcomed 200 children from Paris to spend a day at the park and enjoy the parade.
