More Greatness to Visit When You'll Come to L.A as the Long-Awaited Museum of George Lucas is Coming to Los Angeles !
More greatness to visit when you'll come to Los Angeles as it was announced today that the long-awaited museum of George Lucas is coming to Los Angeles. The board of directors of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art said L.A beat out San Francisco to host the venue. It will be built in Exposition Park, home of the Natural History Museum.
From Collider: "The museum will feature pieces from Lucas’ private collection, including Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts from his other works, vintage photographs and even traditional paintings. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti says the museum is eyeing a May 4, 2020 launch, according to THR.
Garcetti also clarified that “this is not a Star Wars museum”, saying that “this is a collection of narrative art in a city that has the best storytellers and storymakers in the world. The best collection of Norman Rockwell paintings on Earth. Works from R. Crumb.” He closed out with this cringe-worthy appropriation of geek culture by saying, “‘Do or do not — there is no try. Today, we did it.”
From the N.Y Times : "The creator of “Star Wars” has spent years making plans to open a museum for his collection of fine and popular art. After previous plans to open in Chicago were canceled, Mr. Lucas and his architects revealed designs for both San Francisco and Los Angeles, causing months of speculation about which city was a better spot for his futuristic-looking museum.
Mr. Lucas has pledged to finance the $1 billion project, which is expected to bring thousands of construction and museum jobs to the city. The museum will house his collection of some 10,000 paintings and book and magazine illustrations assembled over decades, including those by Norman Rockwell, R. Crumb, and N.C. Wyeth (whose artwork enriched “Treasure Island”), as well as Hollywood memorabilia from Mr. Lucas’s films."

Disneyland Paris Update : Last Tours for Space Mountain Mission Two, Pirates of Caribbean Original Version, and more - Plus: First Footage of the WDS Star Wars Projection Show !
First Disneyland Paris update of the year which began with the closure for a few months of two of DLP main attractions which will reopen this Spring with new theming or additional effects. Here we go with plenty of great videos from Max, D&M contributor and DLP Welcome webmaster!
Space Mountain : Mission 2 close forever at Disneyland Paris on January 8 and in April a unique version of Hyperspace Mountain titled Star wars Hyperspace Mountain : Rebel Mission will open during the 25th anniversary and will probably stay for several years!
Max has filmed a HD video of the last tour of Mission 2 and here it is!
Disneyland Paris released a new visual for the upcoming Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain : Rebels Mission which also show the new design / colors of the trains - as changes on the trains are expected and will reduce the G-shocks during the ride which is good news!
January 8 was also the last day for Disneyland Paris Pirates of Caribbean ride in its original version. The ride will close until July and will re-open with the Jack Sparrow Audio-Animatronics and new special effects. It was the last POTC ride of all Disney parks still with its original version, and to say the truth, i'm not sure it's a real good idea to don't keep it like it was. The only good news is that if one day they want to bring back the original version they'll be able to do it easily, something that won't be that easy to do with DCA Tower of Terror currently being transformed at California Adventure in a Guardians of Galaxy ride...
Max also has filmed a video of the last rid elf the original version of DLP POTC, and here it is below.
Final Curtain also for the Nighttime show « Disney Dreams! Of Christmas » ! On march 25, 2017, it will be the turn of the classic and original version of « Disney Dreams! » to make room for « Disney illumination » the new show for the 25th anniversary.
Here is the video of the final curtain of the Christmas show.
On the Walt Disney Studios Place of the Stars, technical facilities continued to be installed for the Star Wars Season of the Force projection show on the Tower of Terror facade, which start this weekend!
And Disneyland Paris released today an official video showing the first images of this "Star Wars : A Galactic Celebration" projection show!
The wonderful show of « Mickey and the Magician » stops for 2 months, it’s time to said « thank you » to the cast and production team with a video of the last performance.
Last but not least, here are the maps for both parks for the month of January showing only what is open.
Max will be back soon with a new update but in the meantime don't miss missed the great Disneyland Paris book. There is still copies available in English regular edition. For the FRENCH Collector edition it's totally different. Only 50 copies are still available, and when this collector's edition will be out of stock, it will NOT be reprinted as it was a limited edition.
The price for an english copy is 78 euros and the price for each copy of the remaining 50 copies of the French edition is 100 euros ( which was the original price of this limited collector's edition ). Don't await any new special offer as these are the last copies and the price won't change. Shipping worldwide per copy is 19€ ( except Belgium or Italy for which it is 25€ ) and you can pay by Paypal, credit card or bank transfer. Just send me an email at: neverlandeditions@gmail.com to place your order with your shipping address. The Paypal payments can be send at the same email address: neverlandeditions@gmail.com
Disneyland Paris, From Sketch to Reality is truly a gorgeous book that late WDI Imagineer described as "the best book ever done on a Disney theme park in the last 50 years". It's an awesome gift for any Disney parks fan, so don't miss it while it is still available, and it won't last long!

DCA Tower of Terror Tribute : "Terror tracks", a Twilight Zone Ride Concept by Joseph Pojunis
Disney's California Adventure Tower of Terror closed its doors forever last week and Disney fans were there for the "final check-out". Joseph Pojunis, also a great fan of DCA TOT did a great tribute to the closing of DCA Tower of Terror. He made in video a ride titled "Terror Tracks" inspired by the TOT, but as a train/coaster instead of an elevator. He went as far as calling Mark Silverman - who did the voice of Rod Serling in the attraction - to do the voice acting!
As Joseph says in the video presentation: "Terror Tracks is an homage to Tower of Terror, created as a form of carrying on the legacy of the popular attraction.
The goal for this roller coaster was to follow similar beats to Tower of Terror, while still being a unique attraction. To accomplish this, I've taken iconic moments from the real ride (The "hallway" scene, the "wave goodbye" scene, etc) and re-profiled them to fit a new theme. In this setting, riders of an underground subway train are sent plummeting into the Twilight Zone via a rickety old track inspection vehicle.
One aspect of this project that I'm particularly proud of is our voice actor, Mark Silverman. As some of you may know, this is the man who voices all three of the actual Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror attractions at Disney's California Adventure, Disney's Hollywood Studios (Florida), and Disney's Hollywood Studios (Paris)."
