Does This Jim Michaelson Artwork On Sale in the Van Eaton Galleries Auction Really Shows an Early Concept for Shanghaî Disneyland ?
Last Saturday in my article about the upcoming Van Eaton auction, i've posted a picture of a never-seen-before concept map done by Jim Michaelson, according to the auction catalog for Shanghaî Disneyland. The catalog says that it was done in 2009 and feature the earliest ideas of how will look the park and attractions, with a giant Tower of the Four Winds in its center.
Shortly after i posted the article a D&M reader left this comment: "The first thing that came to mind when I saw the "Shanghai Disneyland" concept map is that this is Hot-Go Park in Fushun, China. I'm pretty sure it's not a Disney rendering, especially with all the roller coasters."
So, i've been looking to the artwork for this Hot-Go Park in Fushun, the one below, and undoubtedly there is more than similarities between the two artworks ( see above and below ) apart the giant tower of the fours winds, so i'm tempted to think, just like him, that this Jim Michaelson artwork was not done for Shanghaî Disneyland.
Your thoughts?

Special Christmas Offer on Disneyland Paris Book RARE 2002 FIRST PRINTING Collectible FRENCH and ENGLISH edition!
Special Christmas Offer on Disneyland Paris Book RARE 2002 FIRST PRINTING Collectible edition!
The book Disneyland Paris was published in 2002 which is of course the date of its first printing. First printings of a book are always the most searched and valuable, generally because the printing is always the best on the first time, and then printing quality can be less good on the next printings. Although it's not really the case with the great Disneyland Paris "From Sketch to Reality" Book, those of you desperately looking for a copy of this now out of stock book will be happy to hear that i've found back last month THREE COPIES of the FRENCH Original Printing of 2002 and ONE collector edition of a later printing, still sealed, and also ONE ENGLISH copy of the 2006 printing which is just as good as the 2002 printing.
And contrary to the others copies sold two months ago which were damaged ( and now all sold ), these copies don't have damages and are in very good condition ( the collector copy has even the four lithos which were included with the collector's edition ).
These ultra rare first printing are the most searched and they are the one sold between $500 and $2000 by other sellers on Amazon. The price i ask here for these copies is between 200€ and 250€ and it's a very good deal for first printing copies in good condition, believe me. I put below pictures showing each copy so you can choose the one you prefer.
For each copy the first photo of the cover has a number on it ( it's just a reference number to know which copy it is in order to be able to send you exactly the copy you have chosen ), and the photos that follow the picture of each cover are showing the condition of the copy, this until the next cover photo, etc...
EDITING: Note: the copies no 4 and 5 are already sold. All the others are still available until futher notice.
In addition, there is also some GREAT surprise gifts for Disneyland Paris fans that will be sent to any buyer!
In all cases the shipping cost, for France or Worldwide are 26 euros and payment can be made via Paypal or credit card via Paypal. The total amount, including shipping costs must be sent via Paypal to: nme4@wanadoo.fr
For any order - or if you don’t have a Paypal account and wish to pay with credit card - you must send me an email to: amplittaye@gmail.com and indicate the NUMBER of the copy that interest you!
