Disneyland Paris Update : Fantasyland Alice's Curious Labyrinth Reopen, Star Tours Update, and more

A short Disneyland Paris pictorial update today with pictures of the now entirely renovated Alice's Curious Labyrinth in Fantasyland, thanks to Max, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster!

You'll find below pictures of the Queen of Hearts castle and a video showing the entire labyrinth!

Was always, don't forget during you next visit at DLP to go up to the highest point in the Queen of Hearts castle as you'll have a great view on Fantasyland!

Thanks to Max, we'll have a closer look at the renovation of Alice's Labyrinth with the video below!

There is more with these pictures showing the works in Discoveryland on the Star Tours area now that the X-Wing fighter has been placed over the former Star Traders shop which will become a meet and greet with Star Wars characters when this part of the land will reopen next March.

Although you've probably heard about this beautiful book, many of you may have never seen a copy of it. So we've done a video presentation of the full book which will show you each of the 320 pages of the book! The book includes 750 pictures of the park, including 250 gorgeous renderings of Walt Disney Imagineering and stunning pictures of the park seen from above. The book is so big that it took us seven and a half minutes to show you the full book, and that's without stopping turning each pages! So, if you want to have a closer look at a page don't hesitate to stop the video!

Motion Gate Dubai Theme Park Opens - First Ride Videos !

The first videos showing rides from the new Motion Gate park in Dubai appeared on Youtube and here are some filmed by ThemeparkHD and Theme Park Insider showing the park and the Hotel Transylvania, Ghostbusters, Smurfs rides ( les Schtroumpfs, in french ), and more. The Hotel Transylvania,and Smurfs ride appear to be slow family dark rides with few mechanical effects so don't expect any Audio-Animatronics Disney quality like.

But first here is an official video of Motion Gate Grand opening.

Let's move to the on-ride videos with the one of the Hotel Transylvania ride.

Next, is a video showing the Ghostbusters ride.

Next video will show you the Smurfs ride, and here we can even more regret that there is not more animated figures.

Zombieland is a free fall ride, here is the video.

Green Hornet looks to be a Mouse coaster, all outdoor, but the view of the backstage outside is not really the most interesting...

One more video for the fun with this 360° virtual tour of Motion gate Dubai. Note that the 360° effect does not work with Safari but it does with Firefox.

I'm pretty sure that you, Disney addicts, will be disappointed by these rides but to be fair you must remember that the park budget was not the same than the one for a Disney park, which means limits in what you can do. That said, the outdoor theming looks really good but there is some strange choices for some rides like the huge hallways of the Hotel Transylvania ride. I understand that the trackless vehicle had to be able to cross each other in a safe way but, still, i find these hallways really a bit large, to say the least.

We still have to watch videos of the Dreamworks land of the park, and i'll let you know when they will be available!

Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience Full Ride Video !

Thanks to Theme Park Review we have the first video of Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience full ride! It's definitely a film for a simulator ride and i know that some will complain that the principle looks a bit too much like Star Tours but there is a good script and some real cool things in it that i let you discover! Definitely watch it full screen!

Disneyland Paris Frontierland Re-Open - And Rivers of The Far-West Geysers Are Back, At Last !

After more than 13 months of renovation, Disneyland Paris Big Thunder Mountain had its re-opening ceremony Saturday December 17 and Max, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster shot pictures for you, but before, an important note for my FRENCH readers: Please don't miss the important message at the end of the article!

It's Daniel Delcourt, from DLP Operations who did the re-opening ceremony and sent all his thanks to the team thanks to whom DLP Frontierland shines again like it never did since opening day! Mickey and Minnie were with him to symbolically cut the ribbon!

As i said in my previous update the result of Big Thunder Mountain renovation is stunning! All props, animated or not, are back. And the adventure is even more epic due to the explosive final of the ride. The cleaned, repainted and colourful mountain looks better than ever with new vegetation and effects fully reviewed. The theme of the whole ride has been strengthened for our biggest pleasure! Below, new pictures and the video of the full ride.

A special commemorative issue of the Thunder Mesa Daily Messengerwas released on this special day!

But there is also something new which didn't exist before, and it's a new building which hide the tanks of Co2 needed for the new explosive final of the ride. Good shelling, it looks like it has always been there!

It's not only Big Thunder Mountain which reopened last Saturday, but also the Rivers of the Far-West and the Molly Brown!

Here, too, the renovation efforts were considerable. All has been redone, the work is simply remarkable and the highlight of the show are the geysers. which are back, at last! Wonderful quality of execution and the return of effects… more than 10 years after their disappearance. We discover all details, all elements, all the geysers… For the visitors the show experience is better than ever!
