Tokyo Disneyland special report - Part Two : Tomorrowland

Here is the part two of Randie Soul pictorial report of Tokyo Disneyland. This time we will have a look to TDL Tomorrowland, and more precisely Star Tours and Space Mountain. All pictures are in hyper high-res and almost all of them would make great wallpaper for your computer. As always, double-click on each to enjoy them in big size!

Here is the entrance of the land...

...With Space Mountain in the background.

Around the Star Tours entrance...

TDL Star Tours pre-show is probably the biggest of all.

What is great at TDL is the park's maintenance. The attraction looks as new as it was on opening day.

And what a great lighting!

The hall when you exit the Star Speeders.

There is a great view on other Tomorrowland attractions when you exit Star Tours. Like here with the Monsters Inc ride and Go Seek building...

Or this one with the Rocket Jets and, behind in the background Tokyo Disney Sea Tower of Terror and Mysterious Island!

Here is Space Mountain at dusk, let's go have a look at it!

Some great shots of the new boarding room decor...

...and of the spectacular lighting which constantly change of colour.

All photos: copyright Randie Soul, that I thanks a lot!

  2. I reckon the exterior of their Star Tours is truely awesome, now the Monsers Inc building right next to it, it'll be a great sight entering Tomorrowland from World Bazaar's side exit.

  4. Hi Matt, No, the TDL and the WDW ( as well as the DL and DLP ) versions are all the same, and everybody is waiting for the Star Tours 2.0 version, hopefully coming soon with a bit ( or a lot ) of luck.

  5. that's unbelievable. it seems like that would be one ride where they wouldn't have to blow a lot of money - keep the infrastructure and just update the movie (maybe with some new 3D technology and "scentilizers")... at the very least.

    my2c. thx alain.

  6. Matt, it's a little bit more complicated than that: Georges Lucas came with his desire and ideas for a new Star Tours, and most of them are good. So far we know that there should be 3D, an "opening roof" of the Star Speeder at some moment in the ride, two AA robots inside the cabin, and of course a new movie. Apparently it seems that the imagineers used the old simulators of the Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion to do some test, and since then, nothing. Nobody, including me! , have more news about it, but it's pretty strange it takes so long and i hope that it's not because Disney and Lucas can't agree on a financial deal...
