Nighttime Spectacular “Fantasmic!” will premiere in 2011 at Tokyo DisneySea 10th Anniversary
The good Disney news of the day is coming from Japan as Tokyo Disney Sea has announced that nighttime entertainment spectacular “Fantasmic!” will premiere in April 2011 to kickoff the yearlong celebration of the Tokyo DisneySea 10th Anniversary, which is September 4 2011. The nighttime show “BraviSEAmo!” currently being presented, will end on November 13, 2010 in preparation for the new show.
Taking place at night in Mediterranean Harbor, the show which represents an investment of approximately 3 billion yen for the Oriental Land Co will feature Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice who creates a breathtaking world of wonder and imagination. The show features fantastic scenes from many familiar Disney films such as Aladdin, Cinderella and Finding Nemo, as well as a thrilling sequence of Mickey fighting a gigantic dragon.
Filled with special effects using water and fire on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor, this dramatic 20 minutes show promises a night of unforgettable fantasy and excitement for all. Performances of “Fantasmic!” will continue to be presented after the Tokyo DisneySea 10th Anniversary celebration ends.
I remind you that Mickey's Philarmagic will also premiere in 2011, but at Tokyo Disneyland, as well as the Cinderella walk-through inside Cinderella’s Castle which will tell the story through dioramas and paintings a bit like the Sleeping Beauty walk-through at Disneyland.
Well, we'll probably never have "Fantasmic!" at DLP Walt Disney Studios but at least the Japaneses will have it! One thing is sure: if you're planning a trip to Tokyo, 2011 will be a good year to visit the Tokyo Disneyland Resort!

Well...now I have to plan my return trip!
ReplyDeleteIs this the same Fantasmic being presented at DLR and WDW?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, i dont have any more details about it but i think tthere will be some differences although the most iconic figures like the dragon will be tpart of the show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity!!! BraviSeamo is the best show that I have never seen at Disney!!!
ReplyDeletehuge show compared to the others. 4 projection screens. I wonder if the dragon will be fuul-bodied and 60 ft tall!
ReplyDeleteNo! BraviSEAmo shouldn't be replaced. It's been a signature nighttime spectacular for Tokyo Disney SEA and taking it away is like taking away TDS's identity. Disne SEA has always been a theme park which is unique and distinguished from any other Disney parks by it's own one of a kind theme and culture. And I have to honestly say that TDS is the best theme park Disney had ever made. As for BraviSEAmo!, it's already a part of TDS. A day in Disney SEA won't be complete without witnessing this great love story of the spirits of water and fire. While Fantasmic had been a very Disney-themed show and I really think that it's a better fit for Disneyland Park or other Disney parks that still identical with the classic Disney culture. Putting this show in Disney SEA will distort the theme and culture of TDS, and probably doesn't set the best mood for guests after a day of enjoying a park themed to nautical explorations (that has quite sailed away from the classical Disney culture) and suddenlty switching back to the typical Disney culture.
ReplyDeleteI have to say honestly that I strongly against the idea of replacing BraviSEAmo! with Fantasmic. I really hope that the WDI think this over. I wish there's something could be done to convince that BraviSEAmo! should not be ended.
