Except if it was an April Fools - and i don't think it is - the Disney Central Plaza forum has posted yesterday April 1st a very interesting picture of the WDS Ratatouille ride vehicle model. The picture was found at Chessy City Hall where DLP, according to the french law, must file some documents related to any new construction on site. The picture above and below shows the ride vehicle designed for disabled guests but what is interesting is of course its design.
As you can see the vehicle looks like a rat - with the face in the front and the tail in the back - and this confirmed what we have heard before, i.e that Ratatouille guests will have the illusion to be reduced at the size of a rat - and that probably the ride decors will be in proportions. The vehicle platform also confirm that the vehicle will use a trackless LPS system, probably like the Winnie the Pooh ride at TDL. Although WDI has still some time to change the vehicle design my feeling is that the final design should be close to this one, with eventually a change in the vehicle colors.
Edited: I've been told that this vehicle design concept is probably from 2010 so at least three years old, so chances are that the final design might have changed.
Thanks a lot to Disney Central Plaza forum!

now THAT is really interesting! I expected something like a cup (or a sauciére?) in which the guest could have the imagination of beeing shrinked to the size of a rat.... To be honest? Looks cheap.
ReplyDeleteTobias, i think you're a little bit hard on this one. I don't think it look cheap, and also this is just a picture of a model, and even eventually only a 3D model. I'm pretty sure that the final version will look good.
ReplyDeletePour le moment, les vehicules ont l'air aussi cheap que le concept de cette attraction...
ReplyDeleteI have to say I hope that this either an April Fools, or is only the vehicle for the wheel-chair-using guests. It frankly looks terrible - despite the fact that it's only a basic rendering, it doesn't even look like a "Disney" rat.

Yes, I think that the final version won't be orange.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what to think about the ride vehicles, but the ride is probably going to be awesome, especially with the trackless LPS system; I'm certain that it won't be a cheap attraction.
looks fake... produced by fan...
ReplyDeletethat's fake... produced by an amateur fan
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a disabled cart.
ReplyDeleteI'd imagine the normal ones have 2 rows of 3.
Looking at the bottom right picture, it looks like the carts will spin.
Looks good.
It looks very similar to the wheelchair-access cars on Ariel's Undersea Adventure. The load very quickly and require minimal transfers.
ReplyDeleteThey looks the same vehicle as mystic manor at DLHK
ReplyDeleteLooks very similar to the ride vehicles on Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteSeven words: ETF Multi Mover with Motion Platform. Look it up.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks a lot like the ride vehicles for Sea World's new attraction, Antartica.
ReplyDeleteThe vehicle looks like a bumper car with it's black-wraparound bumper. It does not even look Disney like. Hopefully, this is either an early prototype or an April Fool's hoaxe.
