The list below shows the release dates of every superhero or Star Wars movies that have been announced in a way or another by the majors - mostly the dates and for some no final title - and which are set to be released all the way through 2020. Not only chances are that we start to be over-saturated with superhero movies but it's also bad news for "mainstream movies" which have so much difficulties to find a distributor in our days...
I see an implosion coming. I'm sure a good portion of these planned releases won't even materialize.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, just look at how well Guardians of the Galaxy, a previously little known comics franchise is doing at the box office.
ReplyDeleteI think that all of these movies will materialize and that most of them will be big box office successes.
What I think is that probably the box office for this kind of movie will eventually begin to slowly decrease, and with that the number of future releases will also slow down, but I really don't see an implosion.
Of course, I may be wrong...
@Marco Antonio Garcia -
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right. I love these types of films. It's just that six years is a long time and public tastes can and do change. Especially when they're saturated with the same type of film. I suppose it's the overseas market that is encouraging the studios to go full throttle.
