This looks like it will be an incredibly beautiful park. What strikes me is the number of different little paths and areas to explore - much like DLP. The attraction count seems a little low, but that's probably to be expected for a brand new park, especially when they are clearly spending a lot of money on the themeing and environment - let's hope that they have Phase 2, 3 and 4 planned and ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite surprised by Mickey Avenue - it looks a lot like Main Street (although even nicer) - I was expecting something more akin to ToonTown.
I really cannot wait for this to open.
Gosh this is amazing!!!!!! I cant wait to visit it someday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic update. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring this update to us all. I'm an ex WDW cast member living in Bangkok so Shanghai is not that far away! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteThis post is incredibly comprehensive and so many wonderful pictures! Thank you for compiling ALL this information and presenting it in such wonderful detail!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for this amazing post!
ReplyDeleteA few days ago I was a little bit disappointed about the park (yes, I know, you warned us ;)).
It looked like it will be a 80% character-driven Disney park and the things I love most about Disney are the non character-based attractions. Only Soarin' and Roaring Rapids don't have movie tie-ins and that's not much. There also seemed to be not that many attractions and in my eyes there is not 1 "WOW" attraction. OK, the TRON coaster looks amazing, but as I know from the amusement park 1 hour from my home (Vekoma built their first motorbike coaster there), the ride comfort of this type of roller coaster is not that good. It's fun for 2 or 3 times, but I can not ride it over and over, like I do with BTM, BGMRMC or RNRC.
The missing of an attraction with the Test Track, Indiana Jones, trackless, Tower of Terror or whatever unique ridesystem Disney invented, disappointed me.
But after reading your post, I think the park will be much better that I thought a few days ago. Peter Pan will be better, Soarin' and Roaring Rapids look amazing, TRON will be very cool, The Dwarfs Mine is new to me, but maybe the most important: the environment looks very, very good. I don't like the fact that Mickey Avenue is character based, but it does look good, not too cartoon-y. There seem to be nice restaurants and the park is at least very different from what we know.
So thanks, you took my disappointment away for a little bit and I'll be looking at Airplane tickets very soon, haha! ;)
