Disneyland Paris 24th Anniversary Tribute !

Disneyland Paris celebrates its 24th Anniversary today April and here is a great article to celebrate this new anniversary! We'll go back in time to see how it all began thanks to a series of rare videos, mostly aired on french TV during DLP opening years, and even before! 12

This first video shows what was probably "the" most important moment for the creation of Disneyland Paris, i.e the signature of the agrement between the WDC and the French government, back in 1987!

Note that on most of the videos language is in french only, although the four videos of DLP opening celebration is the english show. Also note that all videos will start automatically when you access this page, and i didn't found the way to stop this automatic start. The best is to stop each video and then to go back at the start of this article to watch them one by one.

Once the agreement was signed, it was time to build the park, and that's precisely what the next video will show you!

The next video below will show you the park one year before opening date, as filmed on April 11, 1991. Bob Fitzpatrick who has been Eurodisney first CEO is interviewed.

This next video will show you the celebration for the unveil of DLP Sleeping Beauty Castle which happened in 1991, six months before April 1992 opening. Rare shots of the park still not yet finished and of course of the celebration itself with 2000 guests and 1000 medias from all over Europe.

Next two videos shows the park grand opening celebration on April 12, 1992, and these videos are the english show, so with english language!

Two years later in 1994, as you'll see on this next rare video, François Miterrand - President of France - and George Bush Senior came to visit the park, had dinner in one of the restaurants and watched the parade.

But one year before, in 1993, George Lucas was at DLP for the opening of the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril in Adventureland.

1995 was a year like DLP never had one again with the opening and tremendous success of Space Mountain at Disocveryland. Here is a video of its grand opening!

The next news video below shows the park 5th Anniversary with Barbara Hendricks herself singing a Happy Birthday to DLP!

DLP early years were also the times when Michael Jackson was personna grata in the park, staying in the biggest suite of Disneyland Paris hotel, facing the park. Hundred of fans were coming each day in the hope to see him at the suite balcony.

Disneyland Paris, back in 1997, included also hundred of animals and Lionel Carambot was the one at that time who was in charge of them. Here is an interview of him.

In 2002  DLP second gate, the Walt Disney Studios, opened and the grand opening celebration included the "Nuit d'Etoiles" show,  which was absolutely perfect, from the choice of music themes to the dancers, it was real Hollywood that opening night and probably the most exhilarating show the WDS ever had, unfortunately for one night only - thanks God, i was there!

Last but not least with this news video for the opening of the Tower of Terror at the Walt Disney Studios in 2008.

Let's wish again a great 24th anniversary to DLP and can't wait for the end of the park renovations to see it again in its opening days beauty. 2. Anonymous, if you had read my warning in the intro, which you didn't do, you would have read that i didn't found the way to stop this autoplay and so was asking the readers "to stop each video and then to go back at the start of this article to watch them one by one."
