Disney Fans Launch a Petition for a Silent Donald Trump Audio-Animatronic in WDW Hall of Presidents

As you know, for each new U.S president an Audio-Animatronic figure is created by WDI and installed inside WDW Magic Kingdom Hall of Presidents. Now, some Disney fans have launched on Change.org a petition to ask that the Trump Audio-Animatonc will remain silent without making a speech as it is usually the case. Below is the full text of the petition that you can see - and sign if you wish HERE

No Speech from the Donald Trump Animatronic in Walt Disney World's "Hall of Presidents"

This is a petition to stop the inevitable Donald Trump animatronic figure from speaking, let alone giving a speech similar to the one given by Barack Obama and past incumbent Presidents, during the "Hall of Presidents" attraction at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Donald Trump ran a Presidential campaign on hateful speech, misogyny, racism and xenophobia. In doing so, he has tainted the legacy of the American Presidency forever. He is perhaps best known for how he uses his words sometimes carelessly, yet oftentimes with the specific intent of degrading, insulting and demeaning not only those who do not agree with him on any given topic, but entire groups of people including Mexicans, Muslims, women and the disabled. These are just a few of the many he has specifically targeted. He has only shown himself to be at the very least intolerant and at the very worst dangerous.

The Magic Kingdom at Disney World is a place specifically designed for the enjoyment of children and families. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for a Donald Trump speech. We ask that Walt Disney World take a stand against divisive and hurtful rhetoric and have the backs of millions of Americans and people worldwide whose day would be ruined by the depiction of a speech by Donald Trump.

  1. I suggest that if Trump does speak his comments be limited to 140 characters, since that's what he seems most comfortable with. Another option is to rename the attraction the Hall of Former Presidents and leave him out entirely.

  2. While it is true US President Trump has never previously held public office and seemingly appears ineloquent and occasionally lacking compassion - a challenge for any God fearing people is to pray for their leaders. For Alain Littaye to judge Trump with such fervor and brand him a xenophobe is a difficult proposition. Perhaps moreso Mr Littaye doesn't fully comprehend the experience of what it is to be born American. Nor likely has Mr Littaye ever fully studied or read about personalities akin to Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, FDR and even the Texas swagger of LBJ before GW Bush ever appeared on the scene.
All of these men also had unlikable character issues and also made choices for which generations could likely choose to hate them. Walt Disney knew this full well and while not agreeing with all US Presidents, Walt Disney sought to honor them within his fascination for history and respect for the Office of the President. If Mr Littaye doesn't like Trump, fine.
But because Littaye doesn't like Trump's swaggering personality or character foibles, this doesn't mean Littaye is accurate that Trump is racist or xenophobic. What Mr Littaye fully doesn't comprehend about Trump is just the same as the popular media - is that Trump won because of the largest concerns from the electorate being who would Trump select to put on the US Supreme Court which will effect law and protections for the American Constitution for generations to come.

Trump isn't a misogynist, racist or xenophobe. Trump hates no one. Rather Trump is very inarticulate while speaking and is an old school "hard head" who is even now is only beginning to clean out the putrefying remnants which have been inside the US governmental system for far too long.

If you want Trump's A.A. figure silent - that's fine. Decide in four years after the economy is better if Trump talks.

  5. Personally I think this is rather sad. In America we have freedom of speech and expression legally protected by the 1st Amendment. Not all countries are fortunate enough to have such a privilege, and we shouldn't begin dismantling that privilege when someone prominent says something we don't like. It's exactly for instances such as this where free speech is the most necessary. It's shameful that you should attempt to quiet someone who you disagree with. That's not how society moves forward. In fact that's how society moves backwards (censorship is something that pretty much every fascist/totalitarian/authoritarian and socially regressive world government practices in large doses). If their views and ideology are as despicable as you say, then you should have no problem producing a strong counter argument to prove them definitively wrong. You're not proving that you have the moral high ground or the superior ideology for attempting to quiet them. All you are proving by censoring someone is that you just don't want to hear them because you're intolerant of different perspectives, opinions, and ideas.

Obviously Trump has a reputation for being politically incorrect and unafraid to speak his mind. He has some strong opinions on a lot of sensitive issues, but that is no reason to shut him up. But we are talking about a Disney attraction, in a Disney park visited by people all around the world. To think that Disney is going to put in a Trump animatronic that spouts hate speech and obscenities is laughable. Disney is clearly going to put in an enormous amount of effort making sure his speech during the show is as neutral as possible, as they have done with all the other Presidential speeches. It's Disney we're talking about. They're a company that is always extremely diligent when attempting to avoid stepping on people's toes and hurting feelings. So really, we have nothing to worry about.

This quote is applicable now more than ever...
“I don’t agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

  6. Obviously some of you who posted some of the comments above have read my article a bit quickly. The text in the article is the text from the petition which was not initiated by me. As it is an article to let know about this petition i did a "copy and paste" of what THEY are saying in the petition. That said, do i agree that he must remain silent? No, i think he should have a little speech like all the others before him, but i think that the speech should show him exactly like he is and to don't try to make him look better or worse than what he is.

  7. Absolutely agree.
Freedom of speech ... what about civil rights ?
    Maybe just have him tweeting
