Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, the awaited one billion dollars indoor theme park opened yesterday with 29 attractions and a brilliant theming over 1,65 million square foot, which makes it probably the biggest indoor theme park in the world!
Some videos appeared on Youtube and this time with plenty of guests in the park. Let's have a look around this new park which in my opinion is probably the best themed one in the region. Below, Warner Bros World Grand Opening two days ago.
The first video below is a Gulf news video which will show you the park in five minutes, better videos coming below.
The next pictures shows Warner Bros plaza, with its day or night lighting, from where guests can reach the different lands of the park. Definitely click on each picture of this article as they are all in big sizes.
Guests are swept away in Hollywood-style when they enter Warner Bros. Plaza, a celebration of all that is the Golden Age of Hollywood. Upon entering the park through the Warner Bros. Shield archway, guests will be transported to Hollywood where Art Deco architecture lines the streets and authentic, Tinseltown details evoke the rich history of Warner Bros.
Warner Bros Plaza, guests will enjoy the "Cinema Spectacular" show in tribute to classic movies and Theme Park Insider has posted a first video of it that you can watch below. I'm just a bit surprised that the show seems to don't have mapping projections on the building left and right but only on the three screens in the middle, but may be it'll come in the future.
Beyond the arches of Warner Bros Plaza, guests are transported to the bright, bustling and modern cityscape of Metropolis. Known as “The City of Tomorrow,” the Manhattan-like skyscraper city is protected from villains by DC Super Heroes like Superman and other members of the Justice League including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg and The Flash, in addition to the Teen Titans.
The iconic Daily Planet, Metropolis’s famed media conglomerate, is home to the Superman 360: Battle for Metropolis, a pulse-pounding attraction opening soon that features the Man of Steel in a riveting battle of good versus evil that will decide the fate of Metropolis.
Thrill enthusiasts entering the legendary Hall of Justice, the massive headquarters of the Justice League, can hop onboard Justice League: Warworld Attacks - a thrilling dark ride with trackless vehicles, immersive media and special effects, which will rapidly dart, swoop, and spin amid a colossal clash while fighting off invaders from another galaxy.
Other exciting attractions featured within Metropolis include Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey, an awe-inspiring 4D "flying theatre" experience that transports guests across the cosmos to extraordinary worlds enriched with multi-sensory special effects...
...and Teen Titans Training Academy, a multi-level play area featuring a zipline and other physical activities that invites up-and-coming heroes to showcase their skills alongside the legendary Teen Titans. When it comes to dining guests, can choose from Ace O’ Clubs, Bibbo Bibbowski’s quick service restaurant; or Park Ridge Market, a grab-and-go café.
Guests can also take home a piece of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi by visiting souvenir shops such as Zatanna Books & Magical Curiosities and Justice League Hero Supply. Fans can also capture their visit to the Daily Planet at Front Page Photo, where they will appear on the front-page of the famed publication, and pick up special editions from the Daily Planet Newsstand.
The next pictures below shows the impressive Hall of Justice in Superman Metropolis land.
Childhood memories come to life in Cartoon Junction, where guests will discover the wit and whimsy of the most iconic characters and animated stories from Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera. In a land filled with fun adventures, Tom and Jerry can be spotted getting up to their usual hijinks, while Scooby-Doo and the gang seek clues to solve spooky mysteries. Additional animated stars like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, Tasmanian Devil (Taz), Pepé Le Pew, Elmer Fudd, and many others can also be found in Cartoon Junction.
Featuring nine family-friendly rides and attractions, this whimsical carefree land offers fun for kids and kids at heart. In the center of Cartoon Junction’s town square is the Tom and Jerry Swiss Cheese Spin, a ride where guests can experience a dizzying spinning coaster that careens them throughout the dynamic duo’s house on a fast-moving chase full of twists and turns (and cheese). On the outskirts of town, a classic haunted dark ride gets a trackless twist in Scooby-Doo The Museum of Mysteries. Guests will hop in their own Mystery Machine to follow Scooby and the gang as they try to untangle the silly, spooky secrets of the museum, culminating in a crazy chase that’s reminiscent of the classic cartoons.
Scooby-Doo Museum of Mysteries is an interesting attraction, half Haunted Mansion, half Mystic Manor and it's one of the attraction to don't miss if you visit Warner Bros World. It's not as sophisticated as a Disney attraction of the same kind, but it's not bad, really. Theme Park Insider has shot a good video of it, here it is.
Other exciting attractions featured within Cartoon Junction include Ani-Mayhem, an interactive dark ride that takes passengers on a rollicking mission to deliver their own cartoon chaos. Here is a short promo video showing Ani-Mayhem which is apparently very good.
Meet Bugs! (and Daffy), a one-of-a-kind walk-through experience at the vintage downtown theater where guests can join Bugs Bunny on stage; and Cartoon Junction Carousel, a colorful twist on a classic carousel. Cartoon Junction is also home to ACME Factory which features three kid-friendly rides of its own, including Daffy’s Jet-Propelled Pogo Stick, featuring a vertical ‘jump’ tower; Tweety Wild Wockets, a fun ride that spins its passengers “awound and awound” as they try to avoid that “bad ol’ puddy tat,” Sylvester; and Ricochet Racin’ with Taz, a car ride that whips racers around a track.
Hungry guests drop in at ACME Commissary, where quick service food is served with ACME flair, while those with a sweet tooth can indulge in a sweet treat at Huckleberry Hound Pies; Penelope Pitstop Cotton Candy; or Yogi Bear and Boo Boo Ice Cream. Fans in search of themed-souvenirs should stop at the ACME Company Store, which is dedicated to fun and play—the Looney Tunes way; while C.J. Mercantile, Cartoon Junction’s General Store located in the town’s emporium, includes souvenirs inspired by fan-favorite characters. This vibrant land is also home to: the Hare Salon, a shopping experience that celebrates Bugs Bunny’s fun disguises; Fudd Hardware, featuring Elmer Fudd's collection of toys and tools for kids; and Daffy Snacks, where shelves are lined with colorful sweets and treats.
Next is Dynamite Gulch, an animated storyland where guests encounter the famed duo Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, as well as beloved characters such as Marvin The Martian, Yosemite Sam, and The Jetsons. Guests can experience Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner’s dizzying dash firsthand, when they hop aboard the thrilling Fast and Furry-ous roller coaster. This premier attraction invites passengers to climb onto Wile E. Coyote’s latest gadget – the ACME Road Rocket 9000 – for an exciting journey through the desert cactus and chasms, joining Wile E. Coyote on yet another pursuit to catch the Road Runner.
Nearby, The Jetsons Cosmic Orbiter lets guests fly their own futuristic spaceship as they circle a space-age landing pad on a high-energy joyride. Meanwhile, Marvin invites adventure-seekers to take a spin on Marvin The Martian Crater Crashers, which turns a crash-landing crater into the best spot for mini-bumper car fun. Marvin’s new recruits will smash the hovering space‐pods together to generate enough kinetic energy to power his broken rocket ship back into orbit, giving a whole new meaning to “kaboom!”
Fans of hot tempered Yosemite Sam can visit Yosemite Sam Rootin' Tootin' Gas, a kitschy, Route 66-themed shop filled with all the oddities Yosemite Sam has picked up throughout his travels.
Here is a video of the Fast and Furry-ous roller coaster, also filmed by Theme Park Insider.
Next land nearby is Bedrock! This age-old land powered by birds and dinosaurs is home to the lively Fred, Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone, as well as their next-door neighbors Barney, Betty and Bamm-Bamm Rubble. Bedrock also wouldn’t be complete without Fred and Barney’s best friend The Great Gazoo and everyone’s favorite pet dinosaur Dino.
Situated in a stone and timber boathouse, the Bedrock River Tours main offices is where stone posters featuring artfully chiseled images advertise Bedrock’s sightseeing opportunities such as The Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure. Tucked away in the natural beauty of Bedrock’s Stonetrail Park, passengers will embark on a scenic boat ride through stone-age wetlands, prehistoric neighborhoods and the city’s picturesque downtown area. While aboard the eight-passenger boat, guests will enter through boulder-strewn pathways, framed in oversized native palm trees and foliage, and pass by the occasional fountain or statue honoring one of the town’s leaders. In addition to the sights and sounds of a day in the life of The Flintstones and The Rubbles, guests will be treated to the town’s Centennial Parade and rumor has it there’s Snorkasaurus-sized trouble in store when Dino is set loose to run amuck during the big celebration.
When hunger strikes in downtown Bedrock, guests can choose from a variety of prehistoric pickings. For a quick stone-age snack, guests can grab and go at Mammoth Munchies. Alternatively, ravenous park-goers can take a bite out of Bedrock at Bronto Burgers and Ribs, where slabs of ribs and giant-sized Bronto Burgers will be served. With a row of fun and quirky cars parked outside this signature Bedrock restaurant— providing the perfect backdrop for a one-of-a-kind family photo— guests are sure to look back fondly on their unique dining experience. Guests can take home a valuable memento when they visit Bedrock Boutique where they’ll find everything the modern stone-age family could need.
Theme Park Insider had the good idea to also film the Flintstones Bedrock river adventure, and the flume ride is quite long and not that bad. Okay, the movements of the animated figures are limited and it would have been definitely better with real Audio-Animatronics but i'm sure the whole river adventure is enjoyable when you ride it.
The last land is Gotham City, where guests can climb aboard a one-of-a-kind robotically controlled flying Batwing vehicle to help the Caped Crusader bring crime to its knees in Batman: Knight Flight — a highly exhilarating dark ride opening soon, providing drops, climbs, spins, and rolls. On this ride, guests will step through a secret panel at Wayne Tech headquarters where they will be recruited as test pilots for the newest prototype of the ultimate urban patrol vehicle. Launching out of the Batcave and soaring over moonlit rooftops, guests will forever remember the experience of thwarting criminals alongside Batman. This ride combines a high-tech flight simulator with immersive scenery and state-of-the-art special effects for a thrilling experience.
Amongst the shipping yards of Gotham City’s wharf, fans’ adrenaline will soar on the Scarecrow Scare Raid, a rousing flight experience that will rattle the cage of any bat or man. This ride blends wild interactive adventures with dizzying maneuvers from Scarecrow’s latest psychological experiments. This diabolical interactive experience features dramatic aerobatics and whirlwind barrel rolls, which are sure to leave an unforgettable impression.
Other exciting attractions to visit in Gotham City include The Riddler Revolution — a rocking, spinning rollercoaster designed by The Riddler himself.
Actually the Riddler Revolution, and as simple as it looks, is quite an incredible ride system as you'll see on the next video also filmed by Theme Park Insider.
In addition, guests can visit The Joker’s Funhouse, a villainous twist on the classic carnival walkthrough experience. The Joker’s Funhouse features a series of physical and mental challenges conjured up by Batman’s biggest foe, including a hall of mirrors, a shrinking corridor, a labyrinth, a hallucination hallway and moving carpets— among many other memorable encounters.
A host of delightfully puzzling games also await park guests at Rogues Gallery Games. Ranging from the Hi-Striker, the Whac-A-Bat, and the Get-Away Car, to the Toxic Blast and the Bazooka Blast, guests will have a chance to use their skills to reclaim Gotham Pier— a once peaceful landmark now held hostage by The Joker and his henchmen.
Hungry, law-abiding citizens can satisfy their appetites at Gotham City’s Finest — the Police Department’s own favorite hangout spot. If guests prefer living on the other side of the law, the Hall Of Doom, hidden in an abandoned subway station, hosts a dinner service for some of Gotham City’s most feared Super-Villains. If savory delights don’t do the trick, guests with a sweet tooth can visit the Mr. Freeze Ice Scream Truck for an ice-cold dessert. Friends and families can commemorate their visit to Gotham City by visiting souvenir shops filled with mementos and memorabilia, such as Park Row Pawn Shop and Monarch Theater Gifts.
I have one more video for you and this one will show you the entire indoor park during 26 minutes. It's not really filmed in a smart way but even with hat and if you wait for the entrance in the park there is some shots that allow to discover more the park like someone who'll do a walk through. It's just a pity that it's not better filmed but at the time i'm writing there is still not that many videos showing the park.
Over all i like this indoor park, and if i go or make a stop someday around there i'll definitely go to Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi. And there is also now a Louvres Museum in Abu Dhabi, so you can add a cultural visit to your trip in the Emirates!
Please note that for technical reasons the two most sophisticated rides of Warner Bros World "Justice League: Warworld Attacks" and "Batman: Knight Flight" are not open yet and will be in a near future. Make sure to check they are open before going.
