" Jungle Cruise Wildlife Expeditions " Starts at Tokyo Disneyland With Stunning Night Lighting and Amazing Visuals Effects

The new "Jungle Cruise Wildlife Expeditions" has started at Tokyo Disneyland and TDL Imagineers did a fantastic job with new music, new lighting and specially new amazing visual effects inside the lost temple! Let's have a look at all this with screen captures coming from the full night ride video that you'll find at the bottom of the article! Click on each to see them in bigger size!

Departure with a Jungle Cruise skipper in a forest illuminated by hundred of lights...

Arrival at the explorers camp savaged by monkeys and gorillas...

The Lion King music is now heard when you arrive at the jungle animals scene...

The explorers always try to escape to the Rhino...

Arrival at the natives village...

The natives attack sequence...

Approaching the lost temple...

Entering inside the temple...

This is the not-to-be-missed scene in the video as it's where new visual effects awaits you as suddenly, in an explosion of lights, the murals are magically transformed by probably projection effects. I predict that U.S fans will be jealous of that scene! May be it will come to DL and WDW Jungle Cruise versions...

Magical lighting for the elephants bath sequence...

Trader Sam is always here!

End of the expedition!

Here is the day video of the new version...

And here is the night video new version, from where are coming the screen captures above.

  1. The interior temple scenes look interesting, but the rest of it looks bad. The Lion King soundtrack in the veldt scene is cheesy. Please leave our Jungle Cruise in Anaheim alone, Disney.

The projection effects look nice, but not a big deal and it's not a new effect, the new lighting also looks nice, but IMO the Jungle Cruise needs much more than that to keep relevant.

I think that this ride needs a major update, in both US parks and in Tokyo; the new generations couldn't care less about it.

I also agree that the Lion King soundtrack is really cheesy and out of place.

  3. I for one will welcome the changes if they arrive in the US (particularly Mk, seeing as the TDL version is just a reverse version of it). These enhancement are a great addition to the ride without hindering or changing the core element, which is meant to be cheesy. The overlay music truly makes the ride alive. As I always say...

Japan always have the good stuff T-T

  4. I think the projection looks great, but should be used in other scenes as well, just to create more details .
Besides, the night version looks too bright and colorful, killing the mood of a jungle.

  5. I don't think that this ride was meant to be cheesy; it became cheesy as it became outdated, because, for instance, no one is impressed by, or takes plastic butterflies and snakes seriously anymore.

The Lion King song just makes it extra cheesy. After that they might as well put the Little Mermaid songtrack in POTC.

  6. The clapping at the elephant bathing pool was a "Lost in translation" moment for me and was way worse than the Lion King soundtrack. This entire ride has been a joke for a very long time. Unfortunately it is sacred now and can't be touched in the U.S. The best opportunity to fix it was back during the creation of Indiana Jones at DL, but they didn't go with the most ambitious plans.
