Editor's Note: The least that i can say is that my endorsement for Barack Obama did provoke some reactions. I am not surprised, and this is a good sign that we're still living in a democracy.
The daily Disney article is back today, and the first picture below fits perfectly with the U.S issue of the day, i.e that we all live on the same planet, and everything is linked, not divided. The decision of any nation has effect on all the others, specially when it is the most powerful one. And we all know that......it's a small world, after all.

@ David...Alain is the only one who can decide what the "purpose" of this blog should be. Blogs are inherently personal and he should be free to write his own opinions, within norms of decency. Anyone who doesn't like an article doesn't have to read it. On a slightly different note..looks like that reason has defeated fearmongering in the polls today...

Alain's blog is whatever he wants it to be. Sometimes "Disney and More" is about Disney. Sometimes it's about More. :-)

After striking out with the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Lewis & Clark expedition, the Emancipation Proclamation, the defeat of the Slave Power, the saving of France from Germany (twice!), the liberation of the death camps, and the putting of a man on the moon, I'm just glad that we've finally given Michelle Obama something to be proud of.

You're absolutely right, except that you forget:
-The Indian native americans genocide
-The hundreds of thousands of Black men and women slaves
-The 3 to 4 million Vietnamese from both sides, 1.5 to 2 million Laotians and Cambodians, and 58,159 U.S. soldiers of the Vietnam war, another war for nothing
- All the victims of the fascist governments of Central America during the 70-80's thanks to the support of the United States ( hundred of thousands in the Nicaragua during the Reagan era - remember the contras? )
- The thousands of victims in South America in the 70's ( Chili Argentina, Brasil ) thanks to the support of the CIA and other U.S secret services who helped to put these dictatorial regimes on power.
- The thousands of U.S soldiers - not to mention the Iraki people - who already died in Irak for a non-justified war ( except to put the hands on oil reserves and to sell weapons, of course )
- All the people who die each year in the u.S because they don't have health care, etc..etc...

You see, there is no nation on the planet who deserves the title of "greatest nation in the world"; not one country ( and i will say exactly the same with MY country ), it's just an image that governments are "selling" to their people because the "System" needs it to survive. And the "System", as we know is a "cold monster".

But the United States and americans, originally, had a real ideal, and did also great things, it's undeniable. The main thing they have to find back is the principle that human being is more important than money.
