Tokyo Disneyland Artwork

This week is a "Tokyo Disneyland" week on Disney and more, so the artwork article is all dedicated to it. As you know, it's TDL 15th Anniversary, and a new 80 pages paperback brochure was published in Japan. It's called "Disney Art Festival" and it's full of Disney and WDI artwork inside! Part of the artwork is already known but i did a selection of some of them that you may not know or that i didn't post before on D&M.

Some of the artwork you will see below, although it inspired Tokyo Disneyland attractions was done previously for Walt Disney World or Disneyland. If you don't live in Japan, it will be almost impossible for you to find this brochure which cost 1200 yen - $13.55. But if you go there or know someone in Japan who can find it for you, i strongly recommand it.

The first rendering at the top is of course for the Tokyo Disneyland Western River Railroad.

This next one show a scene of the Primeval World.

The artwork below show the interior of a World Bazaar shop.

Here are two renderings for the "Enchanted Tiki Garden"...

...and another one showing the Tiki Room characters.

This artwork was done more recently for the "new" Tiki Room show with Stitch.

Here is a rendering showing the facade of the Country Bear Theater.

And an attraction poster for the Christmas version of the Country Bear Jamboree.

This next artwork show the Haunted Mansion building...

And here is a Marc Davis rendering for the ball room scene.

Two renderings for It's a small world, the facade, and a European scene.

The attraction poster for the new version of Space Mountain...

And a John Hench concept showing the inside of Space Mountain!

All artwork: copyright Disney.

I just ordered a copy from Amazon Japan, and it arrived within a week.

It is a gorgeous book.
I also got a copy of the TDR Dream book which comes with a 17 minute DVD of scenery from the parks.

I wish the big CD set was also available, but, can't have everything.
