I wanted to do a pictorial article about the opening of HKD It's a small world, but the HKD press site don't work for some reasons. You'll have later the pictures of this Grand Opening, don't worry, but in the meantime, let's talk about Cars as Disney Consumer Products announced their 2008 line up for the Cars product line. Here is below the corporate release:
Disney· Pixar's Cars has quickly become a leading boys franchise for Disney Consumer Products. Generating over $2B in global retail sales during 2007, Cars is an unstoppable force of nature delivering on boys' classic play patterns and fueling imaginations with new products and content that extend the storyline from film to books and into the home with a lifestyle merchandising program.
The film centers on high-octane adventure/comedy featuring an assortment of cars as characters that, through a series of mishaps, learn that life is about the journey, not just the destination. Grossing $462M in global box office sales, DCP has tapped into the film's success and leveraged it as a franchise with year round opportunity at retail. To date, the Cars franchise boasts a publishing program resulting in 19 Million books sold worldwide, a home décor line featuring the #1 boys bedding pattern in the industry, and a thriving toys and youth electronics product line.
In 2008, DCP will unveil a new product line inspired by "The World of Cars," an umbrella brand that fuels the Cars franchise with new automotive faces, places and adventures to power boys' imaginations and satisfy their need for speed. Kids will join Lightning McQueen and friends as they race to the finish line with the world of Cars.
Coming up in 2008:
