New Disney Patent To Be Used For A Spiderman Ride With Swinging Motions ?
Disney patent hints at Spider-Man-style ride with swinging motions: According to a new patent WDI Imagineers may be looking to recreate the sensation of swinging on a web like Spider-Man for a future ride, though some think it could be used for the upcoming Guardians of Galaxy ride at Epcot. The new patent filed is titled "Track-based Swing Ride with Long Arm Pendulum" and was published on Oct. 5. Apparently the ride combine a swinging pendulum ride mechanism attached to a moving track system that can take the riders through an environment like a roller coaster does.
Here is the patent description of the ride system: "One goal in designing the ride system was to deliver an experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city. [The ride is] intended to have swinging sensation provided while also having forward travel along a ride path in a direction of travel and for the swinging sensation to feel thrilling and fun."
The patent states the movement of the swings also could be controlled where the arm could be slower at the top of a roll to simulate a pause before swinging downward quickly, speeding up as it reaches the bottom-most part of the swing to simulate natural movements.

Disneyland Paris 2017 Halloween Season Pictorial Update !
Here we go for a new Disneyland Paris update as Halloween season has started at DLP and Max, D&M contributor and DLP Welcome webmaster was there to take great pictures of it!
Important Note: Make sure to don't miss the Disneyland Paris book offer at the end of the article as i succeeded to secure a few of the last copies of the English edition - the French edition being definitely out of stock!
Back to the update: Max was pretty disappointed by this season and the reason why, according to him, is because due to the 25th Anniversary decorations on Main Street USA the halloween decorations were moved to Frontierland entry area and up to Phantom Manor. Thus, only Frontierland is decorated for Halloween while the dragon-shaped structure behind the castle continue to lose throughout the years elements of its scenery.
On Main Street USA, it’s time for the "Mickey Halloween tricycle Gang"! Our feeling about the moment was, « Is this a joke? » « I hope it’s a Halloween prank! » Well no, we do have a 12 cycle parade to say hello to visitors for 3 minutes. This is the main animation of the season...
To give you an idea of the change with last year, here is a video of the 2016 Mickey's Halloween Celebration parade.
Frontierland received part of the old decorations of Main Street USA for its entry zone and Phantom Manor. The result changes little compared to last year, but the arrival of ghosts too toon don't fit really with the land.
Now, for the good news: The real novelty of this year is the arrival of the Coco decorations on the theme of the Festival of the dead of the future Disney Pixar film planned for Christmas. And that seems to be the reason for this minimalist Halloween this year. Indeed, this new decoration is neat, a real success but it seems that a large part of the budget for the Halloween season went into it. In addition the Walt Disney Company refused that Disneyland Paris communicate on the Coco theme... So we have « Skeletoons ». And on the other hand, animations devoted to the Coco franchise had to be cancelled. This is how an ambitious park offers a failed season, while the American parks can display the image of the future film « Coco ».
Entering now the Mexican Zone with the Fuente Del Oro and the "Coco" decorations, dozens of great pics and a video!
These above and below look the same but look closely as they're not!
There is a Mariachis Orchestra at Disneyland Paris Frontierland playing in front of the Fuente Del Oro Restaurant during Halloween 2017, and here is the video of it filmed with his mobile ( so a bit low-res ) by Robert Stallard for D&M. Listen carefully as they also play some Disney tunes the "Mariachis" style, including the famous Mickey Mouse Club song, which is quite funny!
As we just said, the ban on communicating and using the Coco franchise led the park to produce a « parade » as poor as’s Goofy’s Skeletoons Street Party, see video below.
Personally i find the Coco decorations really great but i admit that the return of the 2016 Halloween parade (Mickey’s Halloween Celebration created in 2014) in Main Street would have been a better choice because the only appeal of the 25 years Celebration is not enough to fill the lack of animations of this Halloween season.
Max will be back soon with a new DLP update but in the meantime some important note for those of you who didn't have the chance to order a copy of the fantastic Disneyland Paris book in its English version ( sorry for our French friends but the French edition is definitely out of stock ).
