Main Street Electrical Parade End at WDW Magic Kingdom on October 9, Will Head Then to Disneyland resort For Limited Time

The Disney Parks blog confirmed that Main Street Electrical Parade will end at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom on October 9, and then will head to Disneyland Resort for a limited time, and probably for a last farewell:

"The Main Street Electrical Parade, Magic Kingdom Park’s long-running nighttime parade, will officially end its historic run at Walt Disney World Resort on October 9 and then head to Disneyland Resort for a limited-time encore engagement. We wanted you to be among the first to know while there’s still time to plan a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy the magic and nostalgia of the parade one last time.

Main Street Electrical Parade is a nighttime procession filled with glowing, spinning floats that honor favorite Disney characters. Animated Disney films that are represented include “Alice In Wonderland,” “Cinderella” and more. During the parade, Tinker Bell lights the way with a wave of her wand and orchestrates half a million shimmering lights synchronized to a memorable soundtrack.

If you’re planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for our fall experiences and see the parade one last time at Magic Kingdom Park before it ends its run, please keep in mind that Main Street Electrical Parade is not offered on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. Check for the latest parade dates and times here on WaltDisneyWorld.com or in the My Disney Experience app."

Halloween Season at Disneyland Paris
Funny or spooky?

Disneyland Paris released the 2016 press release for the upcoming Halloween season, and here it is!

Halloween at Disneyland Paris
Funny or spooky?

– From 1 October to 2 November 2016 –

For Halloween, the Disneyland Park is getting a makeover, as a strange and spooky atmosphere creeps over the Park. For just one month, guests will be amused, spooked and surprised by Disney Characters. This Halloween season, both the goodies and the baddies at Disneyland Park, will create unique experiences for guests, making them laugh and tremble. In all their finery, Disney Villains will meticulously prepare their most spectacular tricks to tease guests. This is their chance to take the lead, providing laughs and ghostly moments. Mickey and friends will still be around, so expect pranks and chuckles from them this season!

FROM A JOYFULLY FUNNY ATMOSPHERE...

From 1 October to 2 November 2016, Disneyland Park will run on laughter and shivers. Despite allowing the Disney Villains to plunge guests into a spooky world, Mickey and friends will be here to help making mischief at Disneyland Park. Mickey, along with his fellow adventurers, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck and many more will be celebrating the harvest at Mickey’s Halloween Celebration.

Bursting with colour and fun, the parade is the climax of the seasonal celebration, which takes a villainous turn soon enough. Also, to make the most of the celebration, head to the Halloween Costume Corner1 to discover the costumes Daisy is showcasing for the occasion. Stitch also promises to make a few appearances to create a spectacularly mischievous Halloween for guests. Guests can expect to meet plenty of Disney Characters for monstrously funny souvenir photos.

TO A SIMPLY CHILLING UNIVERSE...

Then it is showtime for the Disney Villains... Maleficent, queen of the Disney Villains will take possession of Castle Courtyard, claiming it as Maleficent’s Court1. This fearsome fairy will pose beside her unnerving bramble bush: a captivating encounter for half-amused, half-frightened guests. Maleficent’s spell will extend to Royal Castle Stage where the Disney Villains will challenge the most audacious guests to attend their show if they dare: It’s Good to Be Bad with the Disney Villains!

Because this year, the Disney Villains have planned even more surprises for guests. Jafar (Aladdin), Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians), as well as Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland), and Captain Hook (Peter Pan) will be there. The witch from Snow White, Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and even Dr Facilier (The Princess and The Frog) will also be coming to wreak havoc.

Guests looking for a bit of adventure will also love the Park attractions, which provide thrills throughout the year. The loops of Space Mountain®: Mission 2, the frightening track of Indiana JonesTM and the Temple of Peril and the delirious speeds of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will send shivers down the spines of even the most seasoned rollercoaster fan. And for more unusual thrills, guests will be able to venture off towards The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This aptly named attraction will allow guests to rediscover their love of fear, as the elevator plunges them down. One thing is certain; the view is worth the detour.

AND JITTERS AMONG THE PUMPKINS...

The Halloween spirit will stretch its ghostly arms throughout Disneyland® Park, from Main Street, U.S.A. up to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Sinister and comical, Disney’s Funky Pumpkins* will oversee this transformation, amusing and intriguing guests. Meanwhile, the smiling phantoms of the former inhabitants of Main Street, U.S.A. will invite guests to pose with them, allowing them to immortalise the moment.

The most daring guests can go to Castle Courtyard, which has been taken over by an imposing bramble. Its worrying form, resembling a strange dragon, will change colour when night falls, transporting guests to a mysterious world, where they can enjoy a spooky experience.

DISNEY’S HALLOWEEN PARTY

The most daring guests at Disneyland Park can enjoy the culmination of the season, Disney’s Halloween Party2 on 31 October 2016 until 1 am. When night falls, they will be able to continue to relish the atmosphere in the Park with fun, frights and surprises, as part of a unique and original experience at the mercy of Mickey and his friends and the tricks they have in store. The Disney Villains will be happier than ever before, determined to provide thrills and chills.

With humour, frivolity and a healthy dose of mischief, Halloween will make guests laugh and tremble at Disneyland Paris, from 1 October to 2 November 2016.

Is Disney Planning to Use Projector Drones for Disney Parks Night Shows ?

Is Disney planning to use projector drones for Disney Parks night shows ? Well, according to an article by Digital Trends and a new Disney patent "Disney is preparing to take its world famous entertainment to the skies."
"Earlier this month, the theme parks giant was granted a patent for projector drones—flying machines with the ability to beam images onto attached screens—or building faces—that would be used at night to enchant guests.
According to the concept detailed in the patent, the drone is strong enough to carry the weight of a full-sized projector capable of showcasing both still and moving images.
The device holds a screen that runs parallel to the ground, as the projector beams an image onto the rear surface reflectively. To prevent wind gusts from bringing the machine down, the patent suggests the screen be made from “a mesh sheet with a porosity allowing air to flow through.”
The drones would likely to used to entertain guests throughout the parks as the filing says the “floating or flying projection screens” could show changing imagery and be set to a musical score. The entertainment giant is reportedly considering using the new technology at U.S. park sites in Florida and California, according to Digital Trends in their article HERE."

Fascinating 1983 Japanese Documentary About Steven Spielberg

Here is a fascinating documentary which is definitely not-to-be-missed! This rare one hour long Japanese documentary is all about director Steven Spielberg, It
gives us a look at Spielberg’s in 1983, when he was still young his directing career, and it was filmed after Spielberg made Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. At that time Steven was working on his segment for The Twilight Zone Movie.

But what makes this documentary really incredible is that Spielberg allowed the Japanese crew to tour his homes, offices, and they were even allowed on the set of The Twilight Zone! At that time Spielberg was not married yet with Kaye Capshaw and didn't have children and the documentary also gives you a look at a personal, more candid side of Spielberg that we've never seen before. Others people close to Spielberg or working with him are also filmed, starting by his mother, Robert Zemeckis and John Milius who wrote the script for "1941", Melissa Mathison who wrote "E.T", John Williams and Sid Sheinberg without whom Spielberg may have never start his director career. It’s an incredibly intimate look at the legendary filmmaker, so don't miss this!

Will This Rare Ward Kimball Mickey Tour Ride Concept Replace The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios ?

We heard recently that the Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios might be replaced by something supposedly called "The Great Mickey Ride, and here is something to don't miss as Kingdom of Memories found back a Mickey ride concept developed a long time ago by Disney animator and imagineer Ward Kimball between 1979 and then again in 1983 at the request of Marty Sklar. Will this be the inspiration for this upcoming Mickey ride at WDW DHS, i won't bet on it but it worth to have a look at these old renderings HERE.

Editing: IMPORTANT NOTE: I've just been told that all these renderings were done in fact by imagineer Tim Kirk, brother of Imagineer Steve Kirk ( who was the lead designer of Tokyo Disney Sea ) who was working with Ward Kimball at that time on this ride concept. The only one apparently from Ward Kimball is the one showing the ride vehicle.

Now, these Ward Kimball renderings of a Mickey ride concept were coming from an item that went up for auction last year on eBay, "a set of drawings purchased from famed animator Ward Kimball's estate of sketches for a never-realized attraction for the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland that gives a whimsical behind-the-scenes tour of the cartoon-making process."  The good news for those interested by this historical piece and willing to spend $2500  is that the whole thing is back on eBay auction that you can see HERE.
