Jurassic World Story is Set in a Fully Functional Theme Park on Isla Nublar !

Jurassic World is scheduled to be released in 2015 but Joblo.com had the scoop of last week when they've posted details about the plot. And we don't even need to consider these as "rumors" as Jurassic World Director Colin Trevorrow confirmed all of it in a Slash Film interview! So, no need to say that what is below is full of spoilers and you read it at your own risk! If you really don't want to know anything about Jurassic World, just don't read it. And don't even look at the pics too as a Jurassic World map was leaked with all details about Dinosaurs species, and more!

That said, now that you're warned, let's start by the great news: Jurassic World will happen 22 years after Jurassic Park at Isla Nublar which is now a true dinosaurs theme park and resort, the dream of John Hammond ( played by Richard Attenborough in the first Jurassic Park movie ) became reality!

THE PARK

JURASSIC WORLD will be a real running theme park, complete with a monorail (as teased in recent concept art above), shops, rides, and shows. It's the most popular theme park and a family destination. To get there you have to take a high speed shuttle boat from Florida. Inside the park there are a multitude of activities, including a Dino petting zoo and a Hologram info center where you can learn about the methods they are using to create dinosaurs (an enhanced version of the original one). One of the rides is called a "Gyrosphere" that you can get in and ride around in the wild to get up close to the Dinos.

Colin Trevorrow's Confirmation of fully functional park:

"Yes. Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar. It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible. It’s the realization of John Hammond’s dream, and I think you’ll want to go there."

RUNNING and SCREAMING

Business is good at the park, but the powers that be start to dream up new ways to keep customers coming back; namely by splicing Dino DNA with other dinos (and other species). That becomes the problem. They splice together a T-Rex, raptor, snake, and cuttlefish to create a monstrous new dino that, of course, gets loose and terrorizes the park. Nothing like a little greed and human arrogance to ruin a good thing, right? Dino expert Jack Horner has teased this bad boy since last year and now we have an idea why he says we'll want to "keep the lights on" after seeing it. He may be right.

Colin Trevorrow about crossbred dinosaurs:

"We were hoping audiences could discover this on their own, but yes, there will be one new dinosaur created by the park’s geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate—they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that’s what they get."

Talking about Dinos these leaked pictures of the map of Jurassic World will tell you more about the species you can expect in the movie and the different areas of the resort.

GOOD DINO vs. BAD DINO

According to Joblo.com source, there will be lots of Dino on Dino fighting, as some of the Dinos are "good guys" that are trained by Chris Pratt's character. The raptors and T-Rex are among the "trained" good dinosaurs. The big bad dinosaur has instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex. Does this mean the new dino will be the ONLY "bad" one? Or will there be more than one? Unconfirmed, but it will be the catalyst that kicks off the peril

Colin Trevorrow about dinosaur behavior:

There’s no such thing as good or bad dinosaurs. There are predators and prey. The T-Rex in Jurassic Park took human lives, and saved them. No one interpreted her as good or bad. This film is about our relationship with animals, how we react to the threat they pose to our dominance on earth as a species. We hunt them, we cage them in zoos, we admire them from afar and we try to assert control over them.

Chris Pratt’s character is doing behavioral research on the raptors. They aren’t trained, they can’t do tricks. He’s just trying to figure out the limits of the relationship between these highly intelligent creatures and human beings. If people don’t think there’s potential in those ideas, maybe they won’t like this movie. But I ask them to give it a chance.

And his message to the fans:

"I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren’t doing anything here that Crichton didn’t suggest in his novels. This animal is not a mutant freak. It doesn’t have a snake’s head or octopus tentacles. It’s a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it’s a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film. Maybe it sounds crazy, but most of my favorite movies sound crazy when you describe them in a single sentence."

"I understand the risks of leaving the safe zone. We’ve all been disappointed by new installments of the stories we love. But with all this talk of filmmakers 'ruining our childhood', we forget that right now is someone else’s childhood. This is their time. And I have to build something that can take them to the same place those earlier films took us. It may not happen in the same way everyone expects it to, but it’s the way I believe it needs to happen."

But, wait, there is more news, always from Slash Film:  "The Jurassic Park series sequel has been shooting for almost two months now and the production has already filmed in The Honolulu Zoo. The movie, which is filming under the working title Ebb Tide, is moving to New Orleans Louisiana for eleven weeks of filming and next week they are scheduled to begin shooting at the old abandoned Six Flags New Orleans theme park...

Six Flags New Orleans has been closed since just before Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005. The theme park is located in Eastern New Orleans, in the Ninth Ward of the city, off Interstate 10.Since the closing a bunch of film productions have used the park for movie shoots. Most recently the park was used for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes filming."

So, there you have it, all what is known about Jurassic World and why it should be a hell of a ride - and in 3D! - when it will be released in theaters next year!

Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong'o and Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie Join Star Wars 7 Cast !

It's official, two more actresses join the cast of Star Wars 7! 12 Years a Slave co-star and beautiful Lupita Nyong'o has officially been cast along with Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had this to say in a statement:

"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."

No information yet on who they will be playing in SW 7...

James Cameron Confirms Sophisticated Na'vi Audio-Animatronics for Avatar Land !

A small but great news coming from a James Cameron interview to Slash Film:
"Cameron spoke about the Avatar Land at the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex Film Festival on Saturday May 31. First he said they were looking into doing something olfactory in the park to simulate the experience of being in a rain forest, then added the following:

"It’s going to be called, I believe, "Pandora: The Land of Avatar.” It’s going to have floating mountains. It’s pretty cool. I’ve seen the model and the design work the Imagineering people have done is spectacular. They’ve got a quarter inch to the foot scale model of the whole park and I’ve looked at all the sight lines…it’s not a park, it’s a land within the park but a land is not just a ride. There will be several rides and a number of other attractions. It’s really just a place you’re gonna wanna go and hang out. It’s gonna be gorgeous. Of course it’s gonna be gorgeous at night and they’re using every new trick, every new bit of technology that they’ve created.

The animatronics for the Na’vi characters are gonna be fantastic. For example, their early animatronics would use 12 axis of motion and I think the most they’ve ever done was 32 axis recently. I think they’re up to 64 just in the face of the Na’vi characters. So it’s gonna be remarkable. They really see it as a major, major attraction.

As we know "Pandora: The Land of Avatar" is scheduled to open at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida in 2017, which will be between the release of Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. Construction began earlier this year."

Shanghaî Disneyland Satellite Pictures Article now Edited With Additionals "Reverse Angle" Views !

Editor's Note: I suddenly remembered that satellite views looks differently depending on the angle you look at them. So, went back on Google Earth and did 17 more screen captures, this time looking at the park from the north of SDL. I also did the shots on a bit less vertical angle to get a more volume. And as you'll see, you discover new details that cannot be seen when you look from the south. Instead to do a second article i added the new shots to this one so you'll be able to see both views from the South or the North. 

Google Earth Release New Shanghaî Disneyland 2014 Satellite Views - Now Edited with Additional Views from the Reverse Angle !

It's always interesting to have a look on Google Earth from time to time, as you can have some good surprises. In this case, satellite pics of the Shanghaî Disneyland area hadn't been updated on Google Earth since two years and some even thought that Disney asked Google to don't post new ones. I always thought it was bullshit because why Disney would do such a thing? What Disney don't want anyone to see are the designs of the park, and you can't see them from a satellite view shot vertically as everything look flat. And it proves that i was right as when i looked again on Google Earth last Saturday brand new satellite views of Shanghaî Disneyland area had replaced the old ones, and these new ones have been shot in 2014, just a few weeks ago. They bring a new update on the SDL construction site since the previous satellite views posted on the Theme Park Guy three months ago, which were shot in November 2013 and apparently construction is moving fast in each land, so may be the park will be ready for an opening as scheduled end 2015, after all.

I did plenty of screen shots for you and as usual enhanced them to see more clearly. Above you have a view of the park only but the screen shot below shows all Shanghaî Disney Resort including the hotels. By the way, definitely click on each picture to see them in big size.

And if you don't know where is what here is the same shot with indications. Almost 100% of them are accurate and when i didn't know where exactly a ride will be located i didn't put it. The only one indicated in the pictures below that i'm not 100% sure of the location is the pirates stunt show theater in Treasure Cove.

Now, let's start by the entrance, and on this next shot you can see on the left the park entrance, "Mickey Avenue" which will be a different kind of Main Street for SDL with buildings architecture from different countries. On the right you have what will be the bus station, and in the center what is supposed to be called - wrong or right - "Disney Town" , a dining, shopping and entertainment area with on the the left of the "street" movie theaters and on the right a show theatre, restaurants, a World of Disney, etc...

Here is a closer shot on the entrance and Mickey Avenue with at the top the Garden of the Twelve Friends, located in front of SDL Castle.

Let's move up with this new satellite view of SDL Castle, and Garden of the Twelve Friends as well as some Fantasyland and Tomorrowland attractions are indicated.

Up again and we are above SDL Fantasyland, the big grey part at the center being where will be the Voyage to the Crystal Grotto boat ride. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is on the right and Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie The Pooh dark rides, Alice Curious Labyrinth and more will be located somewhere here, too.

A closer shot on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Can someone tell me if the track is exactly the same one than at WDW Magic Kingdom Fantasyland? It'll be interesting to know, to see if they are building a different version at SDL...

Normally, according to the SDL blue print map which was leaked one year ago, we should find on the left of Fantasyland - and above Tomorrowland - Toy Story Land with Rex's Racers, Slinky Dog Spin and the Woody Roundup show - but no Parachute Drop. But when we look at the satellite view below there is no such things. Considering that Rex's Racers and Slinky Dog Spin are structure that can be installed easily later this might be why we don't see them. But the satellite view seems to show an unexpected building so, although it can be something where they store construction stuffs or worksite huts, may be they've changed their plans and it shows something else we don't know.

Let's move on the right to Treasure Cove where the highly awaited new version of Pirates of Caribbean will be. Note that i'm not 100% sure that the pirates stunt show theater will be where i've indicated it.

Moving down, right under Treasure Cove, to Adventure Isle where will be located the Roaring Rapids raft ride - the one supposedly with Dinosaurs Audio-Animatronics - as well as Soaring Over the Horizon, and more.

Let's move to a satellite view of SDL Tomorowland were there is plenty to see. This is where  will be the Tron Lightcycle Power Run - a motorbike coaster from Vekoma designed on a Tron theme, the Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue ride - which is rumored to be different than the dark ride we know and could be a kind of Toy Story Mania on the theme of Buzz, and Stitch Encounter, similar to the one existing at DLP WDS and HKDL.

Below, a closer shot on Tron Lightcycle Power Run showing both the indoor part - you can guess the track inside - and "Tron Cover" where will be the outdoor part of the ride. As, yes, the Tron coaster will have a part outdoor and a part indoor, what i don't know yet is if the outdoor part will be at the start or the end of the ride. Probably at the start because of the catapult launch which would explain the long outdoor loop, that you can't see yet on the picture below. The "cover" in "Tron Cover" means that a huge modern style structure - think Frank Gehry style - will come above the track with a concourse between the tracks and the "cover" structure. Difficult to explain with words...

Here is an even closer view of the indoor part of the Tron coaster to have a better view of the indoor track.

And now, Tomorrowland view from the reverse angle. The Tron building is now on the foreground on the first picture below.

Let's get out of the park, near the lake. On the picture below you have at the center Disney Town and the entrance plaza with Mickey Avenue, on the left the bus station, and all the grey buildings on the right, below Adventure Isle, are most probably worksite huts that will be removed once everything will be finished.  It's a big piece of land that will then be available for park expansion or eventually a new hotel. At the bottom center the white buildings are restaurants near the lake.

Always near the lake, and a bit more on the right, we can see this long white structure; I'm betting that it is the future train station, we'll see if i'm right but the shape reminds me concept-arts for the SDL train station that were released recently...

Nothing special at the bottom east of the lake, except this small white structure on the center left which looks like a kind of small amphitheater looking towards the lake.

Here is the reverse angle on which you see better this amphitheater structure.

But on the west side of the lake it's there where is currently being built the five stars Shanghaî Disneyland hotel, on the left on the picture below.

Shanghaî Disneyland will also have a second hotel on opening day, a "budget" hotel with a Toy Story theme.
