Tokyo Disneyland New Fantasyland Model Pictures

Tokyo Disneyland did three months ago a major announcement for plenty of new attractions, and today we have a picture of the model for the Fantasyland additions as well as for Tomorrowland, thanks to Japanese website niigata9i.jugem.cc

We'll start by Beauty and the Beast Area with the Beast’s castle and the village where Belle lives, the entire environment of this area will make Guests feel like they are in the film.  To give you a better idea of the upcoming changes here is a picture of "now" showing TDL Grand Circuit Raceway and a picture of the model. You'll note that Toon Town, located on the left, will be preserved. But to make way for the new development areas and the new facilities Grand Circuit Raceway in January 2017 and StarJets will close in autumn-winter 2017.

Located within the Beast’s castle will be a major attraction themed to Beauty and the Beast that can be experienced only in Japan. And in the village, there will be a shop and a restaurant. Below, original TDL renderings and picture of the model.






The new beauty and the Beast area will include a major E-Ticket attraction located inside Beast castle. Below, renderings of the outside and inside and closeshot on the model. Note the huge show building behind Beast castle.







The area include also a Live Entertainment Theater (Theater name to be determined), the first full-scale indoor theater for live entertainment at Tokyo Disneyland. Signature Disney entertainment unique to Tokyo Disneyland and featuring the Disney Friends will be presented in this storybook theater environment. 




A ride-type attraction themed to the Disney film, Big Hero 6, will also open in Tomorrowland. Below, rendering and pictures of the model showing where it will be located in Tomorrowland.

A new Disney Character greeting facility where Guests can meet Minnie Mouse will also open in Toontown and Minnie Mouse, as a fashion designer, will greet Guests in her studio dressed in fashionable costume. After walking through Minnie’s design studio and her work area with interactive elements, Guests can meet Minnie in person, take pictures with her, and generally spend a memorable time together.

Official: “The Muppets Present...Great Moments in American History” Will Begin This Fall at WDW Magic Kingdom

We knew it already but now it's official: "Beginning this fall, the Muppets will be visiting Magic Kingdom Park, where they’ll take part in an all-new live show, “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History.”

Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, will join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical fashion as only they can. From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Muppets appear throughout the day to share with Guests, their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States of America.

Featuring an original song and plenty of wacky Muppets humor, “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” will make its debut in October 2016."

Disneyland Paris Release Official Pictures and Video of Big Thunder Mountain Renovation !

As the largest renovation of the iconic attraction in Frontierland is halfway through, Disneyland Paris News released exclusive pictures from BTM construction site and a video interview of Imagineer Beth Clapperton. who invites you to discover the work that has already been carried out and what awaits you in what will turn out to be a truly explosive adventure!

As we slip behind the palisades, Beth Clapperton, artistic director at Walt Disney Imagineering, brings us up to date after eight months of renovation.




To accomodate the works on Big Thunder Mountain, Rivers of the Far West has been drained for the first time since it was filled in 1992. This major operation was carried out in various phases: first the bottom of the basin was cleaned out during a nightly, two-month long operation; then the fish were removed and placed in other basins of our destination, and lastly the water itself was emptied out.

The 33-metre tall mountain is currently undergoing a thorough cleaning and repaint job. “This important phase of the project will unveil the various rock strata that make up the rock formations, and these will be more visible,” Beth confides.  Over on the splashdown side – where the train drops into the river -, the facilities have been modified and improved in order to be more accessible for the maintenance teams. The landscape of famous Monument Valley in Arizona, well-known for having been the setting of a number of great Hollywood westerns and the natural arches of the Zion National Park inspired the geography of Big Thunder Mountain.

The current ongoing work has given our team the opportunity to replace/restore the multiple props and authentic decors on the mountain, as well as in the queue line and the boarding dock. These are all unique pieces, picked up in garage sales and ghost towns throughout the USA. Naturally, they are treated with special, loving care. A significant amount of wood has been replaced on the island, in particular on the barriers of the queue line. 630 railroad ties of the train track will also be replaced. Most if not all of these unique props were found by the great Imagineer Pat Burke who passed away on December 2014 and nothing would have pleased Pat more  than to learn that DLPI team is taking care of all his great findings. Hope he can hear this from where he is now.

The Disneyland Paris Horticulture teams worked to remove much of the vegetation and replanted trees at the correct scale of the mountain. These were mainly pines, cacti and artemisia.

The projection technology, already used on Sleeping Beauty Castle for Disney Dreams! and for Ratatouille: The Adventure will offer our guests an explosive finale. Light projectors and speakers have been placed and hidden in the rocks of the tunnel, next to a good number of dynamite stick props. New tubs were recently set up next to Pocahontas Indian Village and the liquid nitrogen in them is brought through amphibious pipes to the stage, creating the smoke that takes over the stage and adds an element of awe for our guests. “We are going to offer a ground shattering finale at Big Thunder Mountain in the last lift and will turn this into the wildest ride in the West!”

Mine explorations will pick up again on 17 December 2016. Big Thunder Mountain’s reopening will mark a new step in the experience enhancement plan of Disneyland Paris, with the refurbishment and enhancement of 10 attractions and shows by 2017.

D&M Special : WDI Announces "Guardians of Galaxy - Mission : Breakout" Ride For Disney's California Adventure Tower of Terror

Well, i promised you that i will be back if there was anything big announced before i came back from Shanghai, sure i was that it shouldn't happen ...and i was wrong, as today at Comic Con Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced the rumored Guardians Of Galaxy "Mission Break-out" ride! So, i keep my promise and i'm back for a "D&M Special" article about this new GoG ride!



WDI Imagineer Joe Rhode tell us more about this new ride in the video below, a new attraction that will change forever the Tower of Terror ride at DCA, but here is the official release with renderings. And as you'll see on the one above showing the new exterior of the Tower of Terror some radical changes in its design will happen. which also mean for all Twilight Zone Tower of Terror fans that there probably will not be any turning back to the TOT in the future, i'm sorry to say... Beginning in summer 2017, the outrageous and irreverent gang will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! – a comically high-energy, rocking new adventure. Guests will be right in the mix with characters from the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. Deep inside his fortress-like collection, the mysterious Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) is displaying his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are trapped in customized display cases, suspended over a vast abyss. Unbeknownst to their unscrupulous captor, the intrepid Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIP guests for help. Guests board a gantry lift, which launches them into a chaotic and hilarious adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to break his fellow Guardians out of captivity.
  

The new attraction will anchor a broader universe of Super Heroes that will grow over time at Disney California Adventure park. This exciting new presence will transform the structure currently housing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ (scheduled to close in early 2017) into an epic new adventure, enhancing the breathtaking free fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects to create a variety of ride experiences. Guests will experience multiple random, unique ride profiles in which the rise and fall of the gantry lift will rock to the beat of music inspired by the film’s popular soundtrack.

It's Time to Say Goodbye

And... that's it! As announced previously Disney and more will close until the last week of August and then i'll see what i do. It'll be the same for the D&M Facebook page, too, i'm sorry to say. If there was something really "big" announced may be i'll do a post but so far, and except if i change my mind, you won't have new posts before i come back from Shanghaî Disneyland! I can't thank you enough for your faithfulness and for all your "Likes" on the D&M Facebook page - last time we talked about these, it was three weeks ago when the D&M Facebook page reached the 10000 and now there is over 12600 likes! I'm also thinking about doing something different about Theme Parks and we'll see if i do it or not, i'll let you know.
