BREAKING NEWS: Avengers and Other Super Heroes to Assemble in New Themed Areas at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland!

Big news released by Disney today as Avengers and other Super Heroes will assemble in new themed areas at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland!

From the Disney Parks blog:  Highly anticipated new experiences at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland will soon invite guests to become part of a bigger universe filled with epic heroes and adventures, and today we’re sharing a sneak peek! Developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment, these three new areas will champion the next generation of Super Heroes.

At Disneyland Resort, the new Super Hero-themed land will begin recruiting guests in 2020, with even more new experiences to follow. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe, furthering the evolution of Disney California Adventure park. This new land will be anchored by the popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, in the adjacent space that is currently occupied by “a bug’s land.” “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” closed March 19 to make way for this new heroic experience; the rest of the land will close in late summer.

As part of the transformative multi-year expansion announced for Disneyland Paris, the new Marvel-themed area at Walt Disney Studios Park will include a reimagined attraction where riders will team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure in 2020. This will follow an epic experience launching this summer, when Disneyland Paris hosts Marvel Summer of Super Heroes from June 10 to September 30. Favorite heroes will take the stage for a brand new, live-action super-production featuring cutting-edge special effects and spectacular projections.

Multi-year expansion plans are also underway at Hong Kong Disneyland, including a new themed area that will include an exciting attraction where guests team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp. This new attraction will join the Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017 and is already the most popular attraction at the resort.

Pandora Signs With Disneyland Paris Deal for Exclusive Charms, New Boutique...

Pandora has signed with Disneyland Paris a new deal for exclusive charms and a new boutique:

Jewellery company Pandora has extended its Disney partnership with a new multi-year deal for Disneyland Paris, bringing exclusive new editions of its popular charms, a new boutique and sponsorship of Disney Illuminations nighttime spectacular. New charms exclusive to Disneyland Paris will naturally include Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant and Minnie Mouse next to the Eiffel Tower.

With this new sponsorship of Pandora a new attraction poster was released for DLP night show Disney Illuminations, and you all want to get this one! DLP Today has uploaded a high-res version of it that you can download HERE.

HKDL All-new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show Debut in Main Street USA with Dazzling Visual Effects and Lighting

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has launched the all-new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show with dazzling visual effects and lighting. Minnie Mouse and her pals are inviting guests to a surprise party for Mickey Mouse at Disney’s all-new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show along Main Street, U.S.A. every evening.

This new surprise celebration will transform the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. into a canvas for vibrant, colorful visuals that pay tribute to Mickey’s major milestones. The artistic experience features Mickey’s memorable classics, his full-color heyday and a crazy kaleidoscope of Mickey in modern styles. In the finale of the dazzling light show, Mickey will appear in his finest attire to thank everyone for the fantastic surprise. It is a spectacle of color, music and visual effects that guests will want to experience again and again.

A Closer Look at WDW Pirates of Caribbean New Auction Scene And The Differences Between DLP and WDW Versions

As you've seen in yesterday's article, WDW Pirates of Caribbean re-opened with the new auction scene and at first sight it looks very similar to the new one we have at Disneyland Paris POTC. Except that, at second sight, they're not. There are many differences between both and we'll have a closer look at them to see the differences.

First, yes, the redhead stands in a similar way in both DLP and WDW versions. BUT, and it's a big "but", the main difference in the new WDW POTC scene is that she talks! And this for the first time in 51 years, since the opening of the first Pirates of Caribbean at Disneyland on March 18, 1967! At DLP the redhead still remain silent when at WDW she not only speaks but she's also having a conversation with the pirate auctioneer, as you'll see when you'll watch videos of both versions below. And of course, it means that the redhead audio-animatronic programming in the new WDW auction scene is totally different and now much more interesting to watch...

Editing: An interesting comment to this article let us know that "The new redhead audio-Animatronic" is actually a former Audio-Animatronic from the now-closed Great Movie Ride, which is the reason why she can speak..." Very interesting, and probably right. Considering the fluidity of the new redhead AA i put my bets on the use of the former great Wicked Witch Audio-Animatronic from the Wizard of Oz scene.

Now, the other big differences are with the villagers captured by the pirates. At Disneyland Paris they look almost the same in both before/after versions of the auction scene, although the captured villagers are no longer only women...

...when in the new WDW auction scene version they are not only dressed differently but they've also change of social status. 

Previously the ones captured were simple villagers, though not looking poor...

...and now they are looking more like people from 18th century bourgeoisie, obviously the richest people of the town.

And then there is this CLOCK, the one that the last man is holding on his back. 

I understand that now the auction is an auction of goods - instead of women - but this colonial grandfather clock looks to me to lack authenticity, and more like coming from a modern furniture shop where one can find not-so-perfect replicas of old clocks. And by the way, this is supposed to be a Spanish town in 18th century Caribbean...

As it is an auction of goods it also explain why the others are holding either a framed painting or a chandelier but, wait, doesn't the principle of an auction itself looks strange? I mean, they're prisoners, Pirates steal everything so why are they bidding on anything? They've already raided the town! Then, they’d shoot the man and take the clock! I mean, that's how things were going in pirates days, right? It's supposed to be "Pirates of Caribbean", not "Pirates from Sotheby's"?

Anyway, if we except some bizarre details like these ones, the new scene doesn't look bad, let's say that it just make less sense than the previous version - at least on a historically point of view - but we'll surely survive to that.

WDW Pirates of Caribbean Re-Opens With New Auction Scene

Walt Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean reopens today following a month long refurbishment to make changes to the ride's iconic auction scene. The scene is similar to the one in DLP POTC, though there the red head dialogues with the pirate auctioneer when in DLP version she don't talk.

The pirate auctioneer now oversees a sale of the townspeople’s most prized possessions and goods. In this scene, the familiar redhead figure has switched sides to become a pirate named Redd, who’s just pillaged the town’s rum supply and has something to say about it.

Shanghaî Disneyland Update : First Pictures and Videos of SDL Toy Story Land ! Now Edited With New TSL Pictures!

Shanghaî Disneyland Toy Story Land will open next month on April 26 but as we'll see it seem that the land may be already in soft opening mode. I've found pictures and an interesting video which is in fact the WDI BIM ( Building Information Modeling ) video showing the design of the whole land. It's a very short video only lasting a few second but i did for you some screen shots to have a closer look at it in details.

The video starts at the entrance of Toy Story land where stands a giant Woody - in dark grey, on the right - which will look like the same one located  at the entrance of HKDL TSL.






Then we arrive to the Woody's Roundup area where guests will find a new TSL ride - here on the left of the pictures - similar to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at DCA but with a totally different theming.








We do have the first pictures of Woody's Roundup with the lovely little Bullseyes, posted on Twitter by DONGDONG.

And, guess what, i just found a first - although very short  - video showing the ride in action and apparently with guests waiting in the queue line so it seems that SDL Toy Story Land might be already in soft-opening or in tests mode with SDL cast members...

Hong Kong Disneyland Summer "Carnival of Stars"

This Summer at Hong Kong Disneyland will be the one of the "Carnival of Stars", a celebration of exciting new atmosphere entertainment and shows that’ll keep guests coming back for more. And it all starts today!

The new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show will transform the buildings along Main Street, U.S.A., each night into a colorful canvas that pays tribute to Mickey Mouse’s major milestones. Keep your eyes out for the star of the show in his latest finery.


Guests can spot more than 100 Disney characters across the resort this spring, including the debut appearances of Black Panther, Spider-Man and Groot over the next few weeks. The Disney Friends Springtime Processional brings together more than 30 Disney characters to sing and dance with guests, and this summer, the first ever Disney∙Pixar-themed “Water Play Street Party” will keep guests cool.


Starting March 30, the Karibuni Marketplace will open in Adventureland to immerse guests in the lively colors, sights and sounds of Africa. Interactive games, exclusive souvenirs and special snacks will all be at the marketplace, and favorite Disney characters from “UP,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Lion King” and “Aladdin” will stop by.


Last but not least, the brand new stage show “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” will premiere in Adventureland this May, which is just the first attraction of the resort’s multi-year expansion. Until then, guests can now meet the brave heroine Moana in her debut appearance at the park. Note that the new artwork above apparently replace the first one below released in 2016 showing a different and bigger decor, which is apparently cancelled.
