Dinosaur Planet Stars of Dinos Attraction

Here is the second article about the new Dinosaur Planet theme park which opened in Bangkok on March 25. And this time we'll have a look at the "E-Ticket" attraction which include dozens of Audio-Animatronics dinos. "Stars of Dinos" was an attraction in which originally expedition trucks were supposed to transport guests. For various reasons the concept was cancelled and although the trucks are  visible at the entrance, now guests can walk around and took all their time to wonder at these magnificent Dinos AA.

The most important thing to note is that all dinos have been recreated life-size, meaning that you stand next to huge animals and have, as you can stay near the Dinos as long as you want, for the first time of your life the feeling of how it would feel if you were back in time 100 millions years ago or more, standing face to face with these gigantic animals. That IS the main reason why anyone in Bangkok should go to Dinosaur Planet as it is a unique and impressive physical experience, specially when you stand near a full-size threatening T-Rex.

The Audio-Animatronics were made in China but all the skin paintings were done by Thai artists who did a much better job than Chinese usually do. As a matter of fact the skins are incredible, probably the best you can see for Audio-Animatronics Dinosaurs.

D&M has two videos for you, one filmed during daylight and the other at night. Some of you may think that the dinosaurs moves are limited - specially in comparison to the awesome AAs we saw two days ago in the Jurasic World exhibit, but keep in mind that guests were supposed to be in a moving truck and see them just a few seconds while the trucks were passing by. As i've said the ride inside expedition trucks has been cancelled and guests can now admire the AAs as long as they want, but the movements of each Audio-Animatronics didn't changed as the ride cancelling was a last minute decision. That said, they did a real good job on all AAs, specially considering the price as i remember you that the WHOLE PARK has an estimated cost of $15M only, which is amazing.

There we go and below the first video at daylight.

And now, let's have a look at the pictures!

They also have some "walking dinosaurs", a cast-member is of course inside the dinosaur costume, just like at Universal Studios, who take fun at frightening guests.

Each dinosaur makes a great photo location for a "family portrait"!

As usual, it's at night that the scenes look their best with a special lighting. So, here are the same dinos when night fell on Bangkok, and i have also for you a second video.

The unused attraction trucks makes the joy of young children!

As the ride concept was cancelled with guests now walking where intially the trucks above were supposed to move, some plaques were added at the bottom of each Dino indicating their name, species, and a few infos about them.

Dinosaur Planet include more attractions, some really unique as you will see in the part three of this report!

Disneyland Paris 24th Anniversary Tribute !

Disneyland Paris celebrates its 24th Anniversary today April and here is a great article to celebrate this new anniversary! We'll go back in time to see how it all began thanks to a series of rare videos, mostly aired on french TV during DLP opening years, and even before! 12

This first video shows what was probably "the" most important moment for the creation of Disneyland Paris, i.e the signature of the agrement between the WDC and the French government, back in 1987!

Note that on most of the videos language is in french only, although the four videos of DLP opening celebration is the english show. Also note that all videos will start automatically when you access this page, and i didn't found the way to stop this automatic start. The best is to stop each video and then to go back at the start of this article to watch them one by one.

Once the agreement was signed, it was time to build the park, and that's precisely what the next video will show you!

The next video below will show you the park one year before opening date, as filmed on April 11, 1991. Bob Fitzpatrick who has been Eurodisney first CEO is interviewed.

This next video will show you the celebration for the unveil of DLP Sleeping Beauty Castle which happened in 1991, six months before April 1992 opening. Rare shots of the park still not yet finished and of course of the celebration itself with 2000 guests and 1000 medias from all over Europe.

Next two videos shows the park grand opening celebration on April 12, 1992, and these videos are the english show, so with english language!

Two years later in 1994, as you'll see on this next rare video, François Miterrand - President of France - and George Bush Senior came to visit the park, had dinner in one of the restaurants and watched the parade.

But one year before, in 1993, George Lucas was at DLP for the opening of the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril in Adventureland.

1995 was a year like DLP never had one again with the opening and tremendous success of Space Mountain at Disocveryland. Here is a video of its grand opening!

The next news video below shows the park 5th Anniversary with Barbara Hendricks herself singing a Happy Birthday to DLP!

DLP early years were also the times when Michael Jackson was personna grata in the park, staying in the biggest suite of Disneyland Paris hotel, facing the park. Hundred of fans were coming each day in the hope to see him at the suite balcony.

Disneyland Paris, back in 1997, included also hundred of animals and Lionel Carambot was the one at that time who was in charge of them. Here is an interview of him.

In 2002  DLP second gate, the Walt Disney Studios, opened and the grand opening celebration included the "Nuit d'Etoiles" show,  which was absolutely perfect, from the choice of music themes to the dancers, it was real Hollywood that opening night and probably the most exhilarating show the WDS ever had, unfortunately for one night only - thanks God, i was there!

Last but not least with this news video for the opening of the Tower of Terror at the Walt Disney Studios in 2008.

Let's wish again a great 24th anniversary to DLP and can't wait for the end of the park renovations to see it again in its opening days beauty. "Walking" Full Size Audio-Animatronic Dinosaur Stun Guests of Melbourne Jurassic World : The Exhibition !

A Jurassic World exhibition started recently in Melbourne, Australia and, wow, the exhibit include among others two of the best Audio-Animatronic dinosaurs i've ever seen. And one of them is the "bad guy" from Jurassic World, the genetically created super dangerous dinosaur that id don't remember the name here. Definitely don't miss this sequence as not only its Audio-Animatronic is "WDI at its best" quality, but also because the AA is WALKING. That's right, they've found a way to have this giant beast walking on a few meters for a special scene with a truck. Extremely impressive AA and i wonder what the hell they're waiting for to include it in Jurassic Park at Universal Studios...

There is too another dinosaur which is not-to-be-missed, it seems to me to be a Therizinausaurus with huge claws - which by the way is a species which was include in the Dinosaur attraction project that Jeff Burke and I had designed in 2003 and that you can read HERE. The Audio-Animatronic of this dino is also very impressive as you'll see in the video.

Last but not least, the expo of course have a merchandise shop and even the shop include an awesome T-Rex Audio-Animatronic, and that's probably a first!

Below, the expo official presentation from the expo website HERE

"Based on one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history, the exhibition is inspired by scenes from the beloved film. Now the park that was only a promise comes to life… right before your eyes!

Travel to Isla Nublar as a VIP guest and explore Jurassic World. Come face-to-face with a Pachyrhinosaurus; visit The Hammond Creation Lab; stare in wonder at a towering Brachiosaurus; get a rare up-close look at the most vicious dinosaur of them all, Tyrannosaurus rex; and learn all about top-secret projects currently in development.

Created in close collaboration with renowned paleontologist Jack Horner, the Exhibition is infused with interactive educational elements—drawn from the real-world science of dinosaur DNA that allowed Jurassic World to come to life. Visitors of all ages can now learn all about these incredible prehistoric creatures.

Don’t miss the awe-inspiring journey into Jurassic World: The Exhibition. The world premiere event debuts in Melbourne on 19 March 2016, and the Exhibition runs for a limited time only. Book your tickets today, and remember, if something chases you…run!" Allright, i'm sure you're awaiting the video, so here it is!
