Are Disney and Lucasfilm preparing a new Indiana Jones trilogy without Harrison Ford ?

An interesting rumor about the next Indiana Jones movies is coming from Latino Review. And it say that Disney and Lucasfilm are preparing to develop a new Indiana Jones trilogy if the sequel project with Harrison Ford doesn't work out.

There is always a chance that Harrison Ford will make a fifth Indy, but according to Latino Review "the window of making that happen is getting smaller and smaller. There is a date and if Indiana Jones 5 is not moving forward by then, the studios are 100% prepared to recast a younger Dr. Jones and ready up a new trilogy."

If they decide to do new Indiana Jones without Ford the new films won't necessarily be a reboot of the franchise, but more like they did with the James Bond movies in which they've continued the adventures the same way with Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, and others over the last 50 years. And apparently this was actually a part of the original idea thatGeorge Lucas and Steven Spielberg had for the character.

The inside source for Latino Review told them that the studio is looking at several actors to replace Harrison Ford, but Bradley Cooper is at the top of their list to crack the whip. They also say that Shawshank Redemption writer and director Frank Darabont could work on developing a film for the franchise again.

Just like you i suppose it's difficult for me to imagine an Indiana Jones film without Harrison Ford playing Indy but Disney surely won't let the franchise die if they can't have Harrison Ford so chances are they will follow through with the plan of recasting the character and develop a new trilogy.
