Tower of Terror Projection Show Envisioned for DLP Walt Disney Studios Park ?

According to our always well informed friends of ED92 a possible new night show could come at Walt Disney Studios Park:

"This will take the form of a show of video-projections and other special effects on the façade which will be refurbished soon of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Somewhat in the same spirit as in its acclaimed inaugural show in 2008.

This new production would come for the next Christmas season - so in just a few months - to help to better distribute the guests and would be play thereafter as needed: Christmas Season, Marvel Nights - the Tony Stark Parties which ED92 already mentioned earlier, Star Wars evenings, Halloween Season. Note that this show would not be everyday, but only on periods of high attendance and future special evenings."

Let me tell you that nothing could be better as a WDS night show than to have a show similar to the TOT opening show on the facade of the TOT. When it was held for the opening of the TOT, where i was invited, the first thing i said to myself when i came out, so the show had been stunning, was "but why don't they do a night show like this every night for the guests?!? ". Obviously it was a question of money, but in the meantime technology has improved and projections shows costs are less expensive so if ED92 is right may be we'll finally get it!

In the meantime, for those of you who were not there during this memorable TOT grand opening evening, here is the full show which, because of its length, is on several videos, and in 480p only as at that time the digital cameras filming in Full HD were not really available. Note that we may not have an exactly similar show as this Grand Opening show involved dozens of extras in addition to the projections, though the smart decision to guarantee an instant success would be to do an exactly similar one.

That said, note that apparently they did tests a few weeks ago with Star Wars footage, so may be they'll use the facade for a Star Wars projection show, though there will be a serious problem of meaning to have a Star Wars show on the TOT facade as there is no link between both. A meaning problem they don't have with the Disney Dreams show as DLP castle is the symbol for any Disney fairy tale, not only Sleeping Beauty.

New Trailer for the Awaited Steven Spielberg Movie "BFG" - Big Friendly Giant !

Disney released a new trailer for the awaited Steven Spielberg movie "BFG" - Big Friendly Giant - and, boy, this one looks really great as you'll see. Here is the official synopsis:

The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg –finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life. Directed by Spielberg, Disney’s “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle. Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams. Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows, but Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see the Queen (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.

Animal Kingdom Rivers of Light Show & Nighttime Offerings Delayed Until Mid or Late May

The Disney Parks blog announced that Animal Kingdom's Rivers of Light night show will not open as planned on April 22 as "we give the team more time to bring these innovative experiences to life in a way we know will exceed our guests’ expectations."
More information about timing will be shared on the Disney Parks Blog by mid- to late May.

The image above from a recent rehearsal of Rivers of Light illustrates a bit of the beauty and complexity of this innovative blend of water, light and original music that brings with it so many firsts.

Disney also released this video of the iconic Tree of Life showing how the centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom will truly come alive with swirling animated imagery that tells enchanting stories from nature. And i add that it looks absolutely really beautiful!

We have been informed and are saddened by the death of a maintenance technician in the Phantom Manor attraction which happened during a maintenance operation before its opening at 9:00 am. Thus, the attraction is closed for the police investigation since yesterday.

Frontierland Depot and Forest of Enchantment show actors passing by.

The foret of enchantment show is always excellent. Note that the costume of the Fox has been improved.

At Adventureland, the exteriors of the Hakuna Matata restaurant are currently being repainted.

Adventure Isle continue its renovation with now Skull Rock.

A rumor from DisneylandBerry who said on its Twitter Page : « »The famous Dole Whip, sold at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, will be soon available at Disneyland Paris ». If this is true, This is wonderful news. The version « Dole Whip Float » is so delicious !

Spring is here indeed with the flowers near Fantasyland Station.

Resurfacing has been completed around the fountain at the entrance of « it’s a small world ».

Minnie’s Little Spring Train is coming!

The construction of the new version of Star Tours begin with the X-Wing rehabilitation ( let's hope that it will be with the colours of the X-Wing driven by Poe Dameron in Star Wars Episode 7). The Grids of the queue lines have been withdrawn along with the decorations of the « Astroport » (the planets).

The Restaurant Pizza Planet is closed for several months. the sign near the Discoveryland Theater is now absent.

Mickey1929™ says on Twitter that the projections of Ant-Man in the Discoveryland Theater should close during May.
