First Videos of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! Now in Soft-Opening at Hong Kong Disneyland

That’s it, the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! is now in soft-opening at Hong Kong Disneyland and we have the first POV video of it thanks to Attractions Magazine.

Looks great to me, good visual / Pepper ghost effects and the Imagineers found a smart way to give the guests the illusion they are reduced at a microscopic size. Check the video below!

Another video of the HKDL Ant-Man and the Wasp ride was posted by Hong Kong Main Street Gazette shows also the ride as well as the queue decor!

Also watch the ride launch ceremony that happened yesterday!

Thanks to Atrractions Magazine, Geek Culture and Hong Kong Main Street Gazette for the videos!

D&M Exclusive : Tokyo Disney Parks "Disney Couples"

There is something which is pretty unique to Tokyo Disney parks, and it's what a friend of mine who shot recently the pictures below call "the Disney Couples". Basically, it's Tokyo Disneyland fans, whether they're just friends or lovers ( and they can be more than two ) who come to TDR parks dressed exactly the same way, with the same clothes, same hat, etc...  often but not necessarily "Disney" outfits.

It may of course exist in others Disney Parks but in Japan, whether at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea there are dozens if not hundreds of these "Disney Couples".  It's cute, it don't hurt anyone, and it's the kind of thing so deliciously Japanese that we love it!

Invite Your Friends to Your Own Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Tea Party With Disney Meetings and Events !

Did you know about a Disney division called "Meetings and Events"? At Disney Meetings & Events, they take inspiration from classic stories to create meaningful experiences for the guests. Whether you’re planning a very merry (un)birthday party, family reunion, or milestone celebration, the team can craft an immersive, customized event that will provide a memorable, engaging experience for attendees of any age.

They unveiled recently their featured event theme "Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Tea Party", so Let’s take a look at how the attendees can “fall down the rabbit hole” into Wonderland with an event based on the classic animated Disney film Alice in Wonderland.

From the moment Guests enter the room, they will be completely awed that they’ve been immersed into a fantastical scene where their imagination will run free. With oversized chairs, captivating props, and a themed backdrop, your group will be delighted by the intricate level of detail in the setting and décor.

The Mad Hatter will arrive to welcome everyone to the Mad Tea Party, engaging and interacting with your attendees as a memorable introduction to the event. As everyone takes their seat, they will be delighted by the steaming teapots, vibrant floral arrangements, bread-and-butterflies, and other animated table effects that give a nod to the animated classic and truly bring the story to life.

Some of Wonderland’s favorite delicacies can be featured on your custom menu, including the “Queen of Hearts” Headless Shrimp and Blood Orange Sauce, “Mock Turtle” Lobster Risotto with Buttered Fava Beans, and “Pocket Watch” Thyme Pocket Bread with Sea Salt. To give your attendees a greater variety of dining options, you can also incorporate the “Blue Caterpillar Smoker” Action Station, “Tweedledee and Tweedledum” Action Station, and “Rabbit Hole” Action Station into the meal.

Of course, what is a Wonderland-themed party without the signature “Eat Me” cookies and “Drink Me” beverages? These drinks and desserts make for excellent party favors for your guests to take home. You may also consider additional themed dessert options, such as “painting the roses red” cupcakes and “tea cup” tiramisu!

As an added enhancement to this whimsical event, attendees can also receive a surprise visit from Alice, the White Rabbit, or the talking Doorknob. You can also add a photography package to capture candid moments throughout the event.

This private group dining experience gives event planners the ability to adjust and arrange elements to fit their location, timeline and budget, all while keeping attendees engaged and excited. Various elements of food and beverage, décor, and entertainment can be tailored to the group’s preferences.

Disney Meetings and  Events can help you to create the perfect meeting or private event for any size group, theme and objective. Photos, Videos : Disneyland Paris Marvel Super-Heroes Season Debut With Enhanced Shows and Super-Heroes Meet and Greet!

At Disneyland Paris the Season of Marvel Super-Heroes started today and thanks to Mx, D&M contributor and DLP Welcome webmaster we have pictures and 4K videos of the shows!

Lot of people today at DLP WDS for the start of the new seasons with long waiting time, up to two hours for the Marvel characters meet and greet, specially for Captain Marvel.

Right at the entrance of the Studio 1 a big Captain Marvel statue is also greeting the guests.

Among the different shows, the Marvel Super Hero United stunt show who started during the previous season is back at Studio Theater, with a new lighting by Lighting Designer Tim Lutkin, who did the lighting of the Mickey and the Magician show, and it looks to me and Max that he did a great job. In addition the new lighting helps to don't see the cables allowing to have some Marvel characters "flying" over the stage.

The object looking like a kind of flying saucer which was flying above the spectators is now only suspended over the guests but not moving anymore - apparently or probably for security reasons.
The other drones are according to Max a bit smalle rthan last season, allowing to better see the lighting effects. According to Max, the show is much better than last year even if the  storyline is always one for a stunt show, i.e a bit primary.

Have a look to the full new show with the first 4K video below!

The other show "Stark Expo, For a Better Future"  is located on the oudoor stage and according to Max is "super!" with Red Skull, Loki, Black Widow, Spider-Man et dancers ( good or villains ) plus Captain Marvel! Have a look at the full show in the 4K vidoe below but it looks to me better than last year too. Note that there is too a "Dance with Guardians of the Galaxy" show, also on the outdoor stage, on which Groot appear for the first time, but the video will be added soon.

If Max could not shoot pictures of the Captain Marvel meet and greet because of the two hours wait time he did shot pictures of the one with Spider-Man which still had one hour wait ( without reservations ).

The New York yellow cabs below were previously at the Hotel New York and now serve as background decor.

Universal Studios Hollywood Unveils First Look About Highly Anticipated and Innovative “Jurassic World—The Ride” Opening this Summer

Universal Studios Hollywood Unveils First Look of Its Highly Anticipated and Innovative New Epic Adventure, “Jurassic World—The Ride,” Opening this Summer:

Inspired by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Global Blockbuster Franchise, the Mega Attraction Will Fuse 21st-Century Technology and Astounding Special Effects with New Dinosaurs from the Jurassic World Film

Universal City, CA, March 22, 2019 – Universal Studios Hollywood unveils a first look of its eagerly awaited mega attraction, “Jurassic World—The Ride,” as anticipation grows for its grand opening this summer.

Leaping from the silver screen to the theme park, “Jurassic World—The Ride” will immerse guests into newly themed environments and breathe new life into dimensional animatronic dinosaurs, including some all-new fan favorites featured in the Jurassic World films from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

This ambitious ride is being reimagined under the direction of the award-winning and inspired minds at Universal Creative, the Academy Award-winning special-effects visionaries at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a division of Lucasfilm, Ltd., the brand stewards at Universal Pictures and acclaimed filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall.

The state-of-the-art attraction will debut an original storyline that takes place within the theme park as depicted in Jurassic World. It will feature additional new dinosaurs from the film, lush scenic design, and ground-breaking technology that has yet to be experienced within a theme park.

The aesthetics of “Jurassic World—The Ride” will be dramatically enhanced, welcoming guests to a reimagined space reflective of the Jurassic World films. A fresh, new entry statement, stonework landscaping and a contemporary redesign of the iconic pillars illuminated with billowing flames will support a prominent “Jurassic World” marquee logo.

Engaging queue-line videos featuring facts and information about the dinosaurs within the ride set the tone for the adventure ahead, as guests learn more about these imposing prehistoric inhabitants that first roamed the earth more than 65 million years ago.

And the daring expedition begins.

Once aboard specially designed rafts, guests will navigate the lush environs of dense vegetation, traversing new areas besieged with towering dinosaurs meandering just an arm’s length away from visitors. Encounters with such docile creatures as the Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus will quickly turn awry as predatory Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus begin to wreak havoc, turning guests from spectators to prey. When the Tyrannosaurus rex begins to battle one of the attraction’s new behemoth dinosaurs, the rafts will spill down a treacherous 84-foot waterfall as the sole means of escape.

Located adjacent to the ride will be a new elaborately themed “Raptor Encounter” where Blue, the most beloved and deadly Velociraptor from the Jurassic World franchise, and her beta Raptors will engage guests in daring face-to-face encounters.

In addition, a new interactive “Dino Play” area will incorporate educational components within an inspired space where children of all ages can partake in excavations and investigate giant dinosaur fossils.

New Aerial Helicopter Footage Shows Amazing Close Up Shots of Disneyland's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge !

Some recent helicopter footage posted on Youtube by Disney Dave shows amazing close-up shots of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and especially of the Millenium Falcon and others Star Wars fighters all over the land, as well as how the construction of Star Wars land is coming on over at Disneyland California. And it was not even filmed at sunrise or sunset when no workers work yet in the land but apparrenty at mid-day with Star Wars Galaxy's Edge workers all around!

For those of you wondering how he has filmed such close up shots considering that it is forbidden for helicopters to fly over Disneyland, the answer is simple: the helicopter was not over the park and was at a reasonably high altitude, i would say apparently at more or less 500 meters from the ground. The filmmaker just had one of these cameras with incredible super-zooms - like the Nikon P1000 with which you can film the Moon from your balcony. Check it out in the video below!

New Spider-Man Experience Coming at Disneyland Paris and Disney's California Adventure

WDI Imagineer Scot Drake is the "Creative Executive, Marvel Global Portfolio" so in charge of the awaited Marvel land themed attractions coming to Disney Parks, and for those of you who don't know Scot Drake, he was also the show designer of Shanghaî Disneyland Tomorrowland and the TRON Lightcycles attraction. Scot tells us more about Tony Stark's WEB and upcoming Spiderman experiences:

The Avengers are setting up new Headquarters and training facilities around the globe to inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become something more. As part of this global initiative, Tony Stark has founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — or WEB for short— to develop advancements in super-powered technology, including new enhancements to Spider-Man’s suit as their debut project. By bringing together the world’s brightest young inventors, the WEB is creating new interfaces that will empower all of us to join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest.

"As I shared with you just a few months ago, Walt Disney Imagineering’s Global Marvel Portfolio is working closely with our partners across Studios and Entertainment to create exciting experiences and attractions where you can join fan-favorite Super Heroes at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris.

One of the best parts of my job is getting to collaborate with a diverse group of talented Imagineers, all pushing to bring this incredible universe to life, in a way that is authentic to this iconic brand. Developing new and innovative technologies, telling new stories and creating experiences that allow our guests to play an active role alongside these extraordinary characters is our core mission.

Today, I’m happy to be able to share more details on an immersive, interactive experience coming to Disney California Adventure park at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney Studios park at Disneyland Paris.

Both parks will feature an exciting new attraction where guests of all ages can join the heroes in action. We are expanding our story universe by creating a new organization, the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, to be our setting for this experience. Though WEB is grounded in classic characters like Peter Parker, it is an organization that we can all be a part of – one that invites us to engage with these iconic heroes like never before.

Besides introducing WEB, we can’t wait to debut a brand-new, cutting-edge interface as part of this fun, interactive attraction. Through a blend of never-before-seen technology and practical effects, guests will get to experience for themselves what it is like to have the abilities of a Super Hero.

This adventure will blend seamlessly into the story of the new lands we’re creating at both Disney California Adventure park and Walt Disney Studios park, where there will be surprises at every turn!

I’m personally most excited to see Spider-Man swinging through these lands in a new suit that you can see now at Walt Disney Studios Park, soon at Disney California Adventure park, and at other locations in the future. We were thrilled to partner with Ryan Meinerding, Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, to create this stunning new suit design.

And the feeling is mutual. According to Ryan, “It has been the highlight of my career to design all of Spider-Man’s suits for the most recent films. Bringing him to life through Tony Stark’s capable design aesthetic was a true joy, but working with the Walt Disney Imagineering team to develop a look for Spidey that reflects the innovation of a team of young geniuses really brings him to a new level. And knowing that park guests can get up close to that suit and really take in all the detail the astounding Imagineers packed into it means that we have truly brought a new version of the character to life.”

We are proud to be creating new homes for these characters – where guests can live their own adventures alongside fan-favorite Super Heroes.

Recruitment begins soon, so get ready to assemble and find your power!"
