That's it, the first awaited trailer of Saving Mr Banks with Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney and Emma Thompson playing P.L Travers, Mary Poppins creator has been released. Apparently the story is about Walt trying to convince P.L Travers to give to Walt Disney Studios the rights to adapt Mary Poppins, and although it's known that the relation between Walt and P.L Travers didn't went that well it is done on a comedy mode. Have a look!
Part of the movie was filmed at Disneyland as we know but also at Disney Studios and Walt's office was recreated as you can see in the picture below.
We can see how Tom Hanks tried his best - and apparently he did a pretty good job - to impersonate Walt Disney...
At one point Disney invites P.L Travers to Disneyland - where she's never been before, hoping she will be finally convinced...
I have a very good feeling on this movie, so can't wait to see more! What about you?

I really want to watch this movie, it looks really nice, even though I still don't think that Tom Hanks looks anything like Walt and I don't like Mary Poppins to be honest.
I hope that this movie does really well and Disney decides to make a movie about Walt's life (not with Tom Hanks, let's hope).
By the way, I bought the same Mickey and Minnie that are in his office at the Walt Disney museum in San Francisco.
Having been delegated at WED to touch up Walt's full size likeness photos for the Walt Disney Story, I would say Tom's hair and stach should be grayer and not so much Brylcreem.
I was lucky enough to see a sneek screening a few months ago, it is quite a good film.
So excited for this!
Thanks for the trailer. I´m really looking forward to see this and I´m glad that Disney chooses Emma Thompson & Tom Hanks. They are brilliant ! I couldn´t be better.
This actually looks....QUITE GOOD!
Looks great...except I was instantly distracted by Pinnochio's facade in the bkgd during the carrousel scene. ;P
I REALLY want to see this movie!
I want to see this film, but sorry, Tom Hanks is a fine actor, he just doesn't begin to convince me that he is Walt Disney. I think this is a case where they wanted a big name star, but were blind to his suitability. Tom also has a southern accent in one scene which Walt definitely didn't have.
P. L. Travers reminds me of a stern version of Mary Poppins, I believe that Mary Poppins was originally a stern character.
Mrs. Travers is depicted as showing her displeasure at the verse, "The constable's responstible", but that's how it ended up in the final song.
It seems that Walt ultimately won any disagreements, I'm sure it will be interesting to see how that played out.
PG-13? How can a movie about Walt Disney making Mary Poppins possibly be PG-13?
Maybe this will be the 'franchise' movie that Disney will finally get. I can already see sequels/prequels about practically every milestone in his life.
Tres joli. Ca donne envie. Ca fait petit film d'auteur, je ne pense pas que ca sera un gros succes vu le sujet mais j'ai vraiment envie de le découvrir.
I'm really looking forward to this movie, even though I honestly don't like Mary Poppins and I still don't think that Tom Hanks looks anything like Walt.
Let's hope that this movie goes really well and Disney decides to make a movie about Walt's life with another actor playing him.
By the way, I bought in the Walt Disney museum in San Francisco Mickey and Minnie dolls identical to the ones that are in Walt's office in this trailer.
