Val d'Europe - the new city close to Disneyland Paris - has applied to host the global village of the 2025 World Expo ...if the Paris bid is successful. The first of two lands offered is called the ZAC de la Motte, next to the aquatic center of Val d'Europe, both on the municipalities of Bailly-Romainvilliers and Serris. The second land is inside the ring road of Disneyland Paris, facing Magny-le-Hongre.
"They are mainly fields, but these fields are intended to be developed," explains Arnaud Belenet Mayor LR Bailly-Romainvilliers and president of Val d'Europe. The mayor develops the reasons for the nomination. "This is to make the city even more known. We have a capacity to host major events and flows of visitors. And this can strengthen and accelerate the economic development of the territory and increase investment. "
Only place in Seine-et-Marne to having applied to host the World Expo, Val-Europe's will compete with six other sites in the Paris areato host the global village. The chosen site will be known before summer 2017. True heart of the Expo, the global village should be visited by 45 to 60 million people. It is of course also necessary that Paris was chosen to host the World Expo. The country that will host the World Expo will be designated in 2018 by vote of the 169 members of the International Exhibitions Bureau headquartered which is ....in Paris.
It's interesting to note that at the center of the global village will be a huge sphere of 127m in diameter ( see artwork ). As we know an Epcot park was envisioned for DLP a long tome ago before being cancelled, so if Val D'Europe and Paris host the 2025 Expo, considering that World Expos generally always show what the future will be made of, may be DLP will have a kind of "Epcot" close to the parks, even if it will be temporarily…

Here's a link to a post on a local forum (Val d'Europe specific) (French) with a copy of it. I was surprised no one talked about this since it came online as this is a huge take about the 3rd theme park as this could sits on its planned property. The is a very good read:

Comme indiqué dans le titre, la France est en lice pour accueillir l'expo universelle de 2025 et, entre autres propositions, propose le concours de 2 sites à Val d'Europe, tout près du Centre Urbain : ZAC de l'Erable et ZAC de la Motte.
Pour info, la ZAC de l'Erable correspond au site du futur 3ème parc d'attractions Disney c'est à dire sur la très importante emprise, tout le long du boulevard circulaire et faisant face au Golf Disneyland, à la base France Telecom et au Val de France.
Une sphère géante de 127 mètres de diamètre est dessinée comme symbole de l'événement. Nous nous "rapprochons" de ce qui ressemble à EPCOT en Floride (à Walt Disney World). Ce serait alors le contenu de ce supposé 3ème parc d'attractions qui était évoqué ici et là dans les documents relatifs à la Convention et au PLU je crois.

Je pense que c'est une aubaine pour Euro Disney car, sauf erreur de ma part, ce sont les pays représentés pdt l'expo qui financent leurs pavillons, ce qui, une fois l'expo terminée, permet à Euro Disney de profiter des infrastructures pour les exploiter dans le cadre de ce fameux 3ème parc à thèmes, sur le thème "du monde et de ses richesses" (cultures, traditions, technologies, diversité ou ce que vous voulez). Si tout se réalise ainsi, c'est un énorme coup de poker pour Disney qui récupère des équipements à moindres frais. L'opérateur pourra à loisir développer des attractions en lien avec cet univers (à l'image de EPCOT par exemple).
Perso, suis plutôt favorable. Cela apportera davantage de dynamisme avec activités, emplois, retombées, pour le secteur MAIS à la condition que les infrastructures suivent parce qu'actuellement, nous sommes à env. 14 millions pour Disney, 16 millions pour le centre commercial, 6 millions (je crois) pour la Vallée Village et une expo universelle apporte elle aussi des dizaines de millions de visiteurs... (projection de 40 à 60 millions de visiteurs pour cette expo).
Il parait que ce lundi 17, une importante information sera diffusée par le groupe Disney. Peut-être est-ce en lien avec l'expo universelle ou carrément pas du tout, les gens intéressés verront bien.

An EPCOT-style park was originally envisioned for DLP before being cancelled? Wow! I'm a big Disney geek, but I didn't know that! Alain, if you have any pics of that, or more info, it would make for a very interesting post!
