Merry Christmas to All Disney and more Readers!

Editor's Note: Please note that D&M will be "closed" for a Christmas break from tonight Dec 20 until Dec 29 though i may post news as usual on the D&M Facebook page HERE. No special announcement should come from Disney parks during this week and even after and most of you will also be out for Christmas anyway. So, i wish a very Merry Christmas to all of you and if you're still looking for a great Christmas gift i can't recommend enough one of the last copies of the great Disneyland Paris book - more details about how to order one of the five last copies HERE.

The latest interesting news was about with Disney purchase of 965 acres of land near Celebration for $23 Million and a Disney spokesperson has stated to WFTV that the land was purchased for “conservation-related and water management needs”. Basically it means Disney won’t build anything on it but using as ‘’conservation’’ as, as D&M reader Michael told us in his comment yesterday, ‘’part of WDW’s land use requirements is for a certain percentage of land to remain for conservation. So whenever Disney develops land, there still needs to be a set area for conservation and water management. The purchase of this large parcel of land could very well be a precursor to further development within the Reedy Creek Improvement District. It doesn’t necessarily mean a fifth gate, but most certainly is land that can be set aside to fulfill conservation requirements’’. That said, others think that it means that another park is probably in the works now ...we’ll see what the future will bring.

In the meantime i wish you a magical Christmas with this painting of Thomas Kinkade showing Santa Claus bringing gifts - more great paintings on his website HERE and i'll be back before New Year's Eve!
