First Maleficent Trailer , and New Poster !

The first trailer for Disney's Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie has been released and here it is below, as well as the new poster above, much better than the previous one, and beautiful screen shots right after the trailer!

I remind you the synopsis: "Maleficent is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.
Maleficent stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. Maleficent is scheduled to open in movie theaters on May 30, 2014.

Here are screen captures from the trailer showing both Maleficent and Aurora.

Wow, that looks awesome!!!

For sure much more exciting than Frozen, there's no question about that!

That's what I was hoping for, a dark movie with a badass Maleficent; thanks Disney!

Now we just need a new Haunted Mansion movie; by the way, are they still planning to do it?

Looks good they've really respected (copied?) both Eyvind Earle & Marc Davis.

Marco, I think the Haunted Mansion movie is put on hold for now...

Jolie got the Eleanor Audley laugh down! I'm so excited!

And give Frozen a chance. The trailers are quirky because Disney is trying to do what Dreamworks has done (and it's worked for them very well at the Box Office - look at Tangled) but the film has plenty of depth and heart and drama. I've personally seen a lot of preview material for the film not released to the public, and honestly - this film is something really special.
