Bolt Dvd and Blue-Ray Editions will be released next tuesday March 24. That's already good news, but there will be something else - and great - included in both editions. No, i'm not talking about the usual and always welcome "making-of" but more about the new animated short "Super Rhino", starring of course Rhino - Bolt's funny character.
Well, it seems that someone has already received the Dvd as "Super Rhino" is now uploaded on Youtube...
The French Bolt Premiere - the movie and main character is called "Volt" here - was tonight saturday 17th at Disneyland Paris Disney Village Gaumont Theater, and D&M have for you the pics of this memorable evening!
On the picture below, from the left: The two Directors Byron Howard and Chris Williams, John Lasseter, Mark Walton, Rhino's voice in the original version and Clark Spencer, Producer.
Below, another picture of John Lasseter with the Bolt and Penny characters.
Richard Anconina (right) and Gilles Lelouche (left), the two french actors doing Bolt and Rhino's voices in the french version.
All the crew again, with the french actors who did the characters voices on the french version of "Bolt".
Let's end this week-end with four trailers of awaited animated movies, and the first one is the first trailer of Pixar's "UP!".
The second one is the final Bolt trailer - remember the movie will be released soon, on Nov 21!
Here is the first trailer for the Dream Works animated "Monsters Vs Aliens". It will be released March 2009, in 3D, and it looks good!
Universal's production called "The Tale of Despereaux" will be released this Christmas, and the animation looks good, too. It's a modern medieval fairy tale from filmmaker Gary Ross, together with directors Sam Fell & Rob Stevenhagen.
And a bonus one just for the fun - it's not an animated movie trailer, but "Fanboys" is the ultimate Star Wars fans movie! It's 1998 and Star Wars fanboys across the globe eagerly await the release of Episode I. But for Eric, Linus, Hutch and Windows the term "fanboy" is more than just a title, it's a badge of honor. Spurred by impatience and an undying loyalty to their cause, these former high school friends reunite to undertake the road trip of their fan-tasies. Traveling West across the country to visit their Mecca - George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch - the plan is to break in, steal the film and stake their claim as the first fanboys in history to watch it!
You got the idea? Okay, it's gonna be dumb, but probably fun.

A new application game for the IPhone and Ipod Touch was released two days ago on the Itunes App Store, and it's a BOLT game! And the game is FREE! That's a news that should delight those of you who own an IPhone or an IPod Touch, however i have to moderate any enthusiasm, and here is why.
First let me describe this Bolt app game. The application include the game, and two videos - the official trailer and a TV special commercial. Nothing that we've not seen before, but quite good image quality.
The game itself is all about the character Rhino the Hamster who is on a roll and trying to get to his favorite super dog - Bolt - as fast as he can.
All you have to do - thanks to the Iphone accelerometer - is to tilt your IPhone forward, backwards, left or right to guide Rhino through the city streets, avoiding cars and other obstacles on your way to the finish line.
On your way, you can collect bonus lightning bolts and hit the launching ramps for a - as they say - "fully awesome adventure".
Okay, this app game is free, and it's a good point, i agree. But first the app weight is 94,4 MB (!) which is incredibly heavy, probably because of the movie clips weight included in the application. However, it means that the app will take a lot of your available "space" on your IPhone-IPod Touch and, considering that people are downloading like crazy the applications of the App Store ( Apple announced yesterday that 200 millions applications were downloaded since the opening of the App Store in July ) i think it's a bit of a marketing strategy mistake to have released a such "heavy" application, even free.
The other problem is with the game itself. Graphics are simple but most of all, as i've said, basically all what you have to do is to guide Rhino through the streets, avoiding cars and other obstacles, and at the same time, collect the Bolt lightnings. The main problem is that - except the Rhino ball - everything is static. I mean, the cars don't move, nothing is moving, and it's a pity as it would have been much more fun to guide this little hamster in its ball through a dangerous "moving" traffic...
Anyway, the game is free, so if you have enough space available on your IPhone-IPod Touch, give it a try, you'll find it on the ITunes App Store under the name "Rhinoball".
Another new movie clip from the awaited Bolt animated was released yesterday, and here is a collection of the different Bolt movie clips . If you don't know yet if you will go to see this new Disney animated next month, this should help you. But warning! these videos below are great, but of course full of spoilers...
Okay, if you're still reading, here is first the official trailer to have a basic idea of the story-line. I remember you that Bolt is the story of a dog who plays a heroic dog in a hit TV show and has some trouble recognizing that he doesn't really have superpowers in the real world.
The movie clip below is the last one released yesterday, where Bolt meets pigeons in New York City. in this funny sequence, the pigeons swear they know him from somewhere, but cannot figure it out...
If you want to watch only one of these movie clips, watch this next one! Called "the chase", it's a sequence from one of bolt's TV episodes and it's just as spectacular as an action sequence from a good summer blockbuster movie!
In this last video, you'll see another sequence from Bolt's TV episodes as well as another clip of Bolt and his friends in the "real life", trying to rescue the cat character.
Now that Wall-E is released, let's have a look to the next animated movies coming from Disney and Pixar until 2011. Here is the program, with pictures and synopsis for each movie!
The first animated to be release - but on dvd - will be "TINKERBELL" , October 28 2008 DisneyToon Studios Director: Bradley Raymond Producer: Jeannine Roussel
Synopsis: Enter the magical world of fairies and meet the enchanting creatures of Pixie Hollow, who “nurture nature” and bring about the change of the seasons. Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow, waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these seasonal specialists. Tinker Bell thinks her fairy talent as a “tinker” isn’t as special or important as the other fairies’ talents. But when Tink tries to change who she is, she creates nothing but disaster! With encouragement from her friends Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn and Iridessa, Tink learns the key to solving her problems lies in her unique tinker abilities…and discovers that when she’s true to herself, magical things can happen.
November 26th, 2008 is the date for BOLT's U.S Release Date and in Disney Digital 3-D! Walt Disney Animation Studios Directors: Chris Williams, Byron Howard Producer: Clark Spencer Voice Talent: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman
Synopsis: For super-dog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue – at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet – a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions – a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens (voiced by Susie Essman), and TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino – Bolt discovers he doesn’t need superpowers to be a hero.
Here is the new BOLT trailer in HD quality
Next one , in May 2009 will be a Pixar production: "UP!" Pixar Animation Studios Director: Pete Docter Co-Director: Bob Peterson Producer: Jonas Rivera Writer: Bob Peterson Voice Talent: Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger, Jordan Nagai
Synopsis: Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. “Up” takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures.
Christmas 2009 will see the return of Disney traditional 2D animation with THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG Directors: John Musker, Ron Clements Producer: Peter Del Vecho Composer: Randy Newman Voice Talent: Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, John Goodman
Synopsis: A musical set in the greatest city of them all, New Orleans, “The Princess and the Frog” marks Disney’s return to the timeless art form of traditional animation. The film teams Ron Clements and John Musker, creators of “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin,” with Oscar®-winning composer Randy Newman to tell the most beautiful love story ever told…with frogs, voodoo, and a singing alligator.
You can have a look at the "frog" character in these storyboard pages
And here is the rendering of an insect, one of the characters - very probably a firefly
June 18th, 2010 is the big date for Pixar's TOY STORY 3 and in Disney Digital 3-D Director: Lee Unkrich Producer: Darla K. Anderson Writer: Michael Arndt Composer: Randy Newman Voice Talent: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, Estelle Harris, John Ratzenberger, Ned Beatty
The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of Woody, Buzz and our favorite gang of toy characters in “Toy Story 3.” Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”) directs this highly anticipated film, and Michael Arndt, the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of “Little Miss Sunshine,” brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities to the proceedings.
Synopsis ( Source: IMDB ) : Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. Meanwhile, Hamm, Rex and Mr. Potato Head begin a quest to find their long lost twin brothers. (NDR: Rumors also say that the characters will travel in Europe)
In Christmas 2010, the next Disney animated will be release: RAPUNZEL Walt Disney Animation Studios Directors: Glen Keane, Dean Wellins Producer: Roy Conli
Synopsis: In this new telling of the classic fairy tale, “Rapunzel,” audiences will be transported to a stunning CG fantasy world complete with the iconic tower, an evil witch, a gallant hero and, of course, the mysterious girl with the long golden tresses. Expect adventure, heart, humor, and hair…lots of hair, when Rapunzel unleashes her locks in theaters for the 2010 holiday.
Finally, in Christmas 2011 Pixar Animation Studios will release THE BEAR AND THE BOW Pixar Animation Studios Director: Brenda Chapman Producer: Katherine Sarafian Voice Talent: Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson
Synopsis: A rugged and mythic Scotland is the setting for Pixar’s action-adventure "The Bear and the Bow.” The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right. Director Brenda Chapman (“The Prince of Egypt,” “The Lion King”) and the storytelling wizards of Pixar conjure humor, fantasy and excitement in this rich Highland tale.

2008 begin in 3 days, and here is a special movie preview with photos and trailers, when available. For each of them i give you the release date in the USA.
Let's begin by Disney animated features. Of course, the most awaited of all is Pixar's Wall-E, release june 27. I've already talk about it, so here is above a new picture and, below, the last trailer. For more infos about it, please see my previous posts.
The other Walt Disney animated will be "Bolt", schedule to be release on november 26. Here is a first picture. No trailer yet available.
Always in the "animation" category, but not from Disney, two movies on which i have a good feeling. November 7 will be the date for Madagascar: The Crate Escape . No trailer yet available, but picture below.
And the other one is "Dr Seuss Horton Hears A Who " release on march 14, and i have an even better feeling on this one, as it is directed by the guys who did the Ice Age movies. Pictures and trailer below.
2008 will also be the year of the second Narnia movie , with Prince Caspian, release on may 16.
If you're fan or archeologist heroes, two movies should make your day. The first one is of course the highly awaited Indiana Jones and the temple of the crystal skull. And it's for may 22.
Here is some images of the shooting in the USA and Hawai.
The other archeologist hero will be back august 1 in the Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. As you probably already understood, the action this time is in China, and the production did a fantastic job with the recreation of Shangai, circa 1948, as you will see if you click HERE, and here are some pictures.
Another movie will bring us back in time, in 10000 BC, precisely. It is directed by Roland "The day after tomorrow" Emmerich, and it will be release soon, on march 7.
In the Marvel super-heroes category, the Iron Man will touch down in the theatres on may 2. And great actor Robert Downey Jr is playing Tony Stark/Iron Man.
The other one is the new Hulk movie, played this time by another fantastic actor : Edward Norton, so the movie should be much better than the previous one. No trailer yet available, but here are some pics. Release on june 13.
A new Harry Potter will also be release november 21, and a Batman "Dark night" on july 18. But a good surprise may come from the new movie of the Wachowski brothers. After their "Matrix" trilogy, this new movie release may 9 looks pretty exciting. Okay, it may remember you a video game, but i think that, visually speaking, it may be stunning. Click on the image below to see what i mean.
