...But riders of Iron Man Experience in HKDL Tomorrowland had a big surprise as the ride movie has been updated and you can see now the new HKDL castle when the ride shuttle is supposed to fly over the park at the start...
...or at the end.
...AND if you look well even the Castle and the village of Arendelle, and even Elsa Ice Castle and the mountains of the sleigh ride, to be built in the upcoming Frozen land! I remind you that the film is in 3D so that's why it looks "double" on the scrren capture.

Hong Kong Disneyland released new infos about the awaited Iron Man Experience ride as well as the video below and the attraction opening date: January 11, 2017! But guests staying at HKDL hotels will enjoy from December 23 a preview of the ride, so if you're staying there for Christmas you'll be the first ones to enjoy Iron Man Experience. It probably also mean that we should get the first videos on Youtube, hey, right for Christmas! Thanks to the video we have plenty of first pictures of the different "halls" and i did screen captures for you!
(HONG KONG, NOVEMBER 7, 2016) The much-awaited Disney Parks’ first Marvel-themed ride, Iron Man Experience – Presented by AIA, will launch at Hong Kong Disneyland on January 11, 2017. For the very first time, this new ride-through attraction is featuring a story based in Hong Kong. Guests will be able to soar through Hong Kong’s skies alongside Iron Man and battle the evil forces of Hydra in the multi-sensory immersive motion experience.
“Hong Kong Disneyland is excited to bring the first-ever Marvel-themed ride in a Disney Park to Hong Kong,” said Samuel Lau, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “The Iron Man Experience is a unique immersive motion experience using Hong Kong as the story background for the very first time. We are proud to give local and overseas guests a different perspective and experience of Hong Kong while promoting our vibrant city to the world at the same time.”
The Resort today also announced a corporate alliance with AIA, which will be the presenting sponsor of the Iron Man Experience.

Take flight with Iron Man above Hong Kong
The eminent innovator and pioneer, Tony Stark has selected Tomorrowland in Hong Kong Disneyland to host Stark Expo, where he will show off his latest high-tech creations in various exhibition halls – the Hall of Legacy, the Hall of Protection, the Hall of Energy and the Hall of Mobility. Guests will be among the first to explore Tony Stark’s latest innovations up close and fly in a gravity-defying Iron Wing flight vehicle in Iron Man Experience. He has also made Hong Kong the Asia headquarters of Stark Industries hereafter.
The park has spent over three years to design and create Iron Man Experience – complete with flight simulators, 3-D projection, surround sound and other special effects that immerse guests in the Marvel story of a battle with the evil forces of Hydra.
For the first time, the park has integrated strong Hong Kong elements into a park attraction by using Hong Kong and its skyline for the fly-through ride. After putting on a pair of StarkVision glasses and taking off on Stark Industries’ special Expo-edition Iron Wing, guests will make their way to the Hong Kong Stark Tower powered by the arc reactor and whizz alongside Iron Man through streets that resemble those in West Kowloon and downtown, and fly over iconic Hong Kong landmarks like Tsing Ma Bridge, Victoria Harbour and the city’s pristine mountain ranges.
The Hall of Mobility shows models of Tony Stark inventions, as well as one of the Iron Man ride simulator.

More Iron Man-themed experiences to be discovered at Tomorrowland
The Iron Man Experience will be complemented by a range of Iron Man-themed experiences unveiling at Tomorrowland in the run up to the grand launch of the Stark Expo. The brand-new Expo Shop is already opened to greet guests with a tantalizing range of 70-plus Hong Kong Disneyland exclusive Iron Man merchandise items and more than 250 items of Marvel-themed memorabilia, among them collectibles and toys, glowing key chains, souvenirs as well as apparels and accessories. Some of the exclusive apparels feature Hong Kong’s postcard-perfect scenery or Stark Expo themes.
In the Expo Shop, Iron Man fans get to try on Iron Man’s armor suit in the interactive game Become Iron Man at The Stark Expo. Through interactive motion-sensing technology, guests can experience the various functions of the armor and feel what it is like to be a super hero as they fight the forces of evil while zipping through streets that closely resemble Hong Kong. Guests can also take home a memento package featuring a digital photo collage of their Become Iron Man adventure, as well as a digital download of an approximately 35-second video of their transformation.
The park and hotel restaurants have prepared more than 25 Iron Man-themed food and beverage choices to refuel during the intense Iron Man Experience. Among the delectable choices are an Iron Man Waffle, Iron Man stein, Iron Man desserts at Chef Mickey Buffet and Iron Man beverages served at the resort hotels.
At the Iron Man Tech Showcase presented by Stark Industries, guests will find various Iron Man armor suits. Iron Man will also make his first appearance at Hong Kong Disneyland to meet and interact with guests.
Guests may chance upon an opportunity of a sneak preview, when the Iron Man Experience Sneak Peek is held from December 23, 2016 to January 8, 2017. Starting from December 23, 2016, guests staying at the resort’s two hotels will receive a Priority Admission Pass of Iron Man Experience to shorten the wait for their turn on the Marvel-themed ride. The awaited Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience attraction is not open yet but the Stark Expo shop is and i have the feeling that soft-openings for the ride itself should start in a few weeks or so. Today we'll have a closer look to the Stark Expo shop thanks to pictures released here and there on internet - special thanks to This is Mr B Facebook page - as well as videos showing the new shop.
One of the first thing that HKDL guests will see when they arrive is the sign below indicating where is what. As you'll see there is different "halls" indicated for the Iron Man Experience. Is it separate experiences or different halls part of the pre-show queue, this is what we will discover soon.
The Iron Man Experience entrance is, as you've guessed, at the end of the path between the merchandise shop and the Buzz Lightyear show building.
By the way, the Buzz Lightyear rotunda on the right and some of the column in the background have been repainted to have a better colors transition with the Iron Man Experience building now on its left.
Before entering "Iron Man Experience" itself guests will be able to discover another hall on the left called "Iron Man Tech Showcase" and as you'll see on the visuals below it will most probably include the display of all the different Iron Man armors.
Now, let's talk about the shop itself which, again, is now open for all HKDL guests.

No need to say that inside the Stark Expo shop you'll find plenty of items related not only to Iron Man but also to Marvel super-heroes.
I'm sure you'd like to have a walk-through inside the shop and here is the video of it also filmed by Main Street Gazette.
But the shop includes more than merchandise items as you'll find in it a "Become Iron Man" interactive experience similar to the one we've seen before - where a guest must follow what appear on the screen - with the addition of new footage.

Hong Kong Disneyland Marvel’s Iron Man Experience has officially begun its ride tests! Iron Man Experience is the new attraction for HKDL Tomorrowland and will open this fall. And considering all the buzz that is happening for the opening of Shanghaî Disneyland, the least we can say is that HKDL will really need a new ride!
From The Disney Blog: "Iron Man Experience is the all-new attraction we’ve been eagerly waiting for since it was first announced in 2013. Hong Kong Disneyland announced today that ride system tests by their expert team of Walt Disney Imagineers are a go as construction nears completion. Once it opens, it will officially be the first Marvel ride-through attraction at a Disney Park. The new ride will be opening in Stark Expo in Tomorrowland.
The story begins when Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) decides to bring the Stark Expo to the park. Guests can visit the Expo and explore the latest and greatest innovations from Stark Industries. They’ll go aboard an Iron Wing vehicle, the latest flying transport invented by Stark Industries, and journey through Hong Kong streets and the iconic city harbor as they battle against the evil forces of Hydra alongside Iron Man.
The new Marvel-themed area will also include a cool interactive “Become Iron Man” experience, exclusive themed merchandise and an immersive, story-driven character greeting with the man himself…Iron Man."
Time to come back to the light little by little before the darkness from this tragedy swallows us all. I suggest we'll start the week with a short Hong Kong Disneyland update thanks to pictures found on Google Earth and This is Mr B Facebook page.
As you know HKDL is now in its 10th Anniversary celebration and HKDL 10th Ann surprises will start to open soon. At the entrance guests can see this big "book" with Mickey and friends - pictures above and below - probably here to remind to the park visitors that tomorrow is starting the new show "Mickey and the Wondrous Book" which had this week-end its media preview event.

Also in Fantasyland will open this December the Fairy Tale Forest, below a picture of one of the entrance gate.
HKDL guests still have to wait until mid 2016 to enjoy the awaited Iron Man Experience but new Google Earth views provide a view of the works as seen from above.
Another interesting view from Google Earth is showing the construction of the Explorers Lodge, HKDL awaited new hotel opening in 2017.
And, taking about hotel, Chip and Dale make sure that the rooms of the beautiful HKDL Hotel are ready for the 10th Anniversary celebration!

By the way, you may remember this rendering released two years ago, showing the entrance of the Iron Man Experience area at HKDL Tomorrowland...
Now, they've shown it again during the presentation but it's not totally the same one, i let you find the differences...
Then the presentation by a WDI Imagineer introduced the design of the simulator shuttle in which guests will feel like being inside an Iron Man suit.
Then came more details about the ride itself showing first the Hong Kong Stark tower...
...with a close shot on the top of it.
As expected something will go wrong and riders will experience an attack by the dark forces of Hydra, and fight along with Iron Man Hydra robots...
...and we'll discover some never seen before faces of Hydra...
A few seconds of the ride movie was shown at D23 and here it is, filmed by Inside the Magic.
Now, here is something interesting that you may have noticed in the pictures or ride footage above: it's raining! And so what, you ask? Well, as we know the ride will be a simulator ride using the same technology than Star Tours but with the latest simulators available, so hopefully better. But creating a simple simulator ride has always seem to me not enough, even with a 3D movie. Now, seeing the rain in these pictures or footage makes me think that HKDL Imagineers may introduce an additional effect inside the simulator, and it's something they know well to do as they did it in Tokyo Disney Sea's Storm Rider ride. Yes, i'm talking about having rain inside the simulator. This is not at all 100% sure as it is just my guess and i may be wrong. At TDS the "alibi" to have rain inside the simulator was that it has been hit by a rocket but here it could be different and it wouldn't be too difficult to introduce in the script a good reason to justify rain inside the simulator. Again, it's just my feeling. A simple simulator ride with no others effects than 3D might look a bit disappointing so i'm sure they've thought to add others effects. But the choice of effects inside a simulator cabin is limited so that's why when i saw the rain i thought about having rain inside the cabin. We'll see if i'm right or not next year!
